I got a bit blase over the weekend and reefed out the disks on my JBOD while the unraid array was still active... This is not generally considered a good idea.

On the plus side... no data loss, just need to rebuild one data drive + one parity drive. On the down side.... That's still a 72+ hour process... But on the plus side again... unraid will keep working for the duration cause I have two parity drives. On the down side... the froghurt contains potassium benzoate.

Note to self: Array down THEN reef.

Oh... And now the power has gone out during the rebuild process.

This doesn't bode well.

I have a UPS... on the other server which this new one is replacing. Doh!

New UPS was ordered about 15 minutes after my post.

3000va modified sine. I've always bought pure sine but the consensus seems to be that modified sine is fine for PC power supplies, and you get a lot more bang for your buck this way.
