This is what happens when the majority of the media is state owned. People live in a world of illusions, like in Turkey, like in N Korea, like in most other fascist states.
It has nothing to do with 'state-owned' or not. That is just an anti-scientific dogmatic propaganda from the Blue Church. Private media can be bought - in fact, can ONLY be bought - to show a story, and they wouldn't care shit if its true or not. Privatised media is just controlled by psychopath Capitalists that have too much money, and a selfish agenda - no true information is necessary in private media. The Capitalist West and its private media is the most propagandized place in the world !
Well state owned media is also definitely a thing. And it goes through corporations too. The state forms some lucrative ties with a corporation and convinces it to buy media establishment en masse, put them under a single umbrella and convert them to propaganda machines. The state is nowadays just another cover for some people to get extremely rich so it sort of puts everything in the same pot.
