Hollywood executives are probably thinking like this: "I heard this whole anime thing is getting popular no? Those are just cartoons but Chinese right? Huh, Japanese? Whatever let's just give them a few millions from our 10 billion dollars budget and we can milk our done to death stories even more!"

Honestly that is something I kinda fear. If Hollywood buys out much of the anime industry they could dictate what's being produced. And I assure you that anything original is going to be rejected because it's too "risky" and "it doesn't make sense from a business perspective".
Maybe it's ridiculous but that's just a fear I have.

I could easily see it happening, especially with how comparatively cheap anime is to produce.

It's cheap because the employees work for significantly less than they should be making.

Oh, of course. I'm not saying it's easy to produce, or that it should be cheap. From a corporate perspective it hardly matters why it's cheap though.

Considering how much work needs to be done to produce even a mid anime the difference is staggering.

Unfortunately, the people working in the animation studios are underpaid and overworked.

Unfortunately. But I feel like even if you gave everyone a good pay the gap would still remain.
