Two weeks ago, an acquaintance who I have a mutual friend with said she's having a birthday party this weekend and that she hopes I'm free. Gave no details, just said it was happening. I have heard nothing from her since, and she has left the last thing I sent on read. I don't really want to go anyway. Knowing her, she will probably text me the night of asking if I'm free, even though she is a Type A person and plans things in advance, so I don't think I'll follow it up.

So she sent no details on plans of her event?

And you asked for deets and crickets?

You can't go if you don't know.

Yeah it was just, "I'm doing birthday drinks on this day, hope you're free!"

Be direct.

"I would love to come. When and where is it?"
