I can't comprehend so many delivery services present and drivers I see on the street. I get that some people need them due to disability or some other reasons but not obviously as many as there are. I have never in my life ordered food to my house, much less download an app for it. I live in a city, a supermarket is like 5 minutes away.
The vast majority of people I know has no cooking skills, no time to cook or no energy after work. Pretty much all the middle-class and lower-middle-class people in this group order delivery for most of their evening meals. The people who 10 years ago were eating microwaved food, now order out: it costs a bit more, but it's definitely tastier.
I can cook, I love cooking in fact.
I can't afford to order food every day (price is usually about 5x that of a cheap home cooked meal here) but I totally get it.
When I get home after a fucking annoying day at work, I hardly want to exist, much less exist and spend time and effort cooking dinner.
But since I'm not rich I just eat bread or cook anyway lol
