Interesting article, and I'm sorry you had to go through those things. What solution would you suggest? I know that making law enforcement better is thebest choice, but is there no other way to communicate online while being safe in the mean time? Should it be required to make your legal name public to someone if you start dating?
I have no idea what the solution should be. I definitely wouldn't want My legal name to be known by some people I dated. But people should also be able to make an appeal to the law when they're abused. But I don't want the government to be tracking trans people's names.
It's a mess. If I were Queen of Earth, I'd just make transphobia illegal and then trans people wouldn't have to hide our names. But that's not a workable policy suggestion. So I think all we can do is get more educated on how to correctly identify and deal with in-community abuse.
