Just reading up on these as the conservatives seem pretty right wing especially during this last election. Then I read the PPC description, they seem pretty similar at a glance. Did they have further distinction before and just recently some of the actors of the Conservatives become pushing towards the PPC ideals?

When Harper merged the Cons with the Reform party the crazies took over and the historical Cons went under the Liberal banner

The PPC is essentially the same party but they have to lean into the conspiracy theories more to court the Conservative vote where as the Conservatives try to campaign like the NDP when they aren’t talking to their voters
