Don't want it to look like church? Take care to get a uniform that fits. It is basically a suit and suits look silly when they are the wrong size. The cut for a blazer is designed to be worn fitted, too large will be as uncomfortable as a too small blazer. Same goes for shirts, a fitted collar will look and feel better than a loose one. Proper sleeve-length is important too, otherwise your hands look tiny (too long sleeves on blazer) or your arms elongated (too short sleeves on either blazer or shirt). The sewing pattern for a classic blazer is designed to be easily altered, even multiple times, make use of that. A shirt cannot be altered that easily, pay most attention to collar size and sleeve length.

A well fitted outfit will feel (and look) a lot better than a sloppy one, especially if you have to wear it every day.

As for not sweating yourself to death, avoid standard issue mixed-material shirts (e.g. Trutex standard) and try to get pure cotton ones instead - the difference during summer is huge. Same for proper socks, avoid synthetic materials. Cool feet help a lot to control body temperature. Wear a tshirt under the shirt, it will help to avoid the shirt fabric sticking to your skin during hot days (which makes it feel even warmer and uncomfortable) and it will prevent tears of sweat in general. Bamboo tshirts are amazing.

I wear a suit for work every day. Hope this helps a little.
