Why does clicking on a link bring me to the comment page instead of the link? (kbin.social)

Clicking on posts pointing outside kbin brings me to its comment page instead of the linked page. I have to click through another time from the comment page to finally get to the article. Is this a deliberate choice, and is there a config somewhere?
