If I don't have easy access to a fidget, I start tapping my fingers quietly, which rapidly turns into drumming along to the beat of whatever song's stuck in my head, then I get so into it I forget I'm in a meeting and start tapping LOUDER because brain need more stimulation, until I'm pretty much playing a drum solo on the desk / table.
And then I realize what I'm doing, stop immediately, covertly look around to make sure no one noticed. Then I try to pay attention while sitting still... which lasts like 30 seconds, then I start tapping my fingers again, and the cycle begins again.
Which is a long-winded way of saying those fidgets are for everyone else in the meeting's benefit, not just mine.
