It's fun fucking with boomers by calling 24 years ago "the turn of the century."
Back in my day, we joked about "not having done x since the last millenium" or some such shit.
"Millenium" is just so much grander. And still factual.
Can we talk about the willenium now?
That was a fun joke for at least a year (depending on whether your friends subscribed to "2000 is the first year of the millennium" or "2001 is the first year of the millennium" or both)
I'm not even a boomer and that hurts.
