Just loving this thing.

I installed Pronce of Persia (2008) and was just impressed about how great this game runs on the deck. Just maxed out settings running with 90 fps is awesome. I know it’s not the most demanding game on steam but back in the days my PC struggled a bit on some situations. Beeing able to play this game like this on the go, suspendable and what not.

Just loving it.

What are you guys and girls playing on your deck rn?

As above, I've been PlayStation all the way, from one to 5.

I've been lucky that by and large it's been good and available on Playstation I've played it. (Last of Us, Skyrim, Red Deads, Cyberpunk, Ghost of Tsushima, Uncharteds, Expedition 33, Fallouts etc.)

I recently bought a steamdeck and loving it. I've realised there's a bunch of AA/AAA games only on steam/xbox that I've missed over the years.

I've bought (and finished) Mass Effect LE, I've bought the Orange Box also and making my way through that now.

Are there other games you'd recommend that fit this and are good on Steamdeck?

Previously Enjoyed Games: As above, plus the likes of GTA, Balatro, BG3, Astro Boy, Dying Light, Ratchet & Clank.

Preferred Genres: Open to anything, not really a big fan of side scrolling platformers like Hallow Knight (I'm sorry I know it's highly thought of).

Budget: Not a constraint.

Other Notes: No, just if its a game that is good but needs tweaking to play on Steakdeck I've never done that before so calling that out up top would be ideal.

EDIT: I'm going to have to make another post to get real answers but leaving this one up as a reminder for me and a good like on for you guys 🥩🥩🥩!

Previously Enjoyed Games: Cult of the Lamb (especially the music), Dredge, Spilled, Urban Jungle, Hello Kitty Island Adventure, Fabledom

Preferred Genres: Relaxing and fun games that are easy to learn, cozy games, light management, exploration, or story-driven games without steep difficulty curves

Budget: No strict budget

Other Notes: Games I couldn’t fully get into: Stardew Valley, Fantasy Life, Persona 5 (tried twice and will try again, but it hasn’t captivated me yet). I prefer games with relaxing atmospheres, charming visuals, and simple learning curves rather than high-intensity or complex mechanics.

Playing Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen - it’s started doing the “Vulkan Shader” process again that takes 20 minutes every time I turn on the game.

Why does it keep doing this? Can it not just download what it needs to once? And that’s it? No more?

I’ve been reading if I turn them off then there can be issues? Is there any solution to this?

I took a break from games for like 2 weeks to focus on work for a bit, but I didn’t really find myself missing it too much.

Now I do more, and I am enjoying Indiana Jones, and I’m wondering if you guys have gone through a time of just not having fun gaming and what title got you back into it.
