I saw some posts about creaky decks before and I guess I'm not sure how wide spread the issue is. But if your deck creaks at all. A small amount of silicone grease applied around the clips and edge of the back panel does wonders. Feels like a brand new system.

My PC just turned off, it turned out the GPU died. Shit. New one is one the way. So far so bad.

But what to do now? Iam looking at my deck standing there, dusty, neglected, sitting in its dock.

I connect the dock to my screen....

and Iam having a very good time.

The overall experience is great, exceptions might be Dual Screen/ changing Screens with weird rotation angles for the decks display... but its overall a solid experience.

Happy that I have it and I will try to implement it more in my daily routine, once my power hungry desktop will be revived.

I wanted a good easy website to send files to any of my devices!

It's fast, simple and open source! I made it fun and didn't want something I had to download, AND mainly privacy in mind.

I've used it across PCs - Steam deck - PS3!! - Mobile.

Still a work in progress as I'm adding bits constantly

I'll take a game, controller supported or not, throw it into keyboard and mouse and start tweaking away using all the available inputs until I have the most slick & streamlined settings available for the game.

The more challenging the inputs, the more satisfaction in getting it right! Games like Fallout, Read Dead Redemption etc.

Anyone else enjoy this kind of sadomasochism?

Basically as the title says. I own a 2017 macbook air and just got my steam deck yesterday and I love it.

Plugged it into my monitor and using a usb mouse and keyboard and it basically does everything I need out of a personal device. No need for work heavy apps since my job gives me a laptop anyways.

Gotta say im impressed by how great such a small device is.

I have no clue on any of the linux shortcut commands - if anyone could point me to any guides on keyboard shortcuts it would be great. Other tha that, i love it.

  • Previously Enjoyed Games: The Sims series, Balatro, Gta, fortnite and apex on windows dualboot, ultrakill, stray, little kitty big city, katamari damacy: reroll, and some more ultrakill style games
  • Preferred Genres: im into rouge likes, but appriciate any cozyish games
  • Budget: idrc prob like 40 and under
  • Other Notes: i like chill games that i can just sit down, and play. not really into games that require a huge amount of focus and i like to shut my mind off, with a few acceptions (like ultrakill, fort, apex, and a little bit of cod but i dont have enough space on windows for the cod i play)

We had the chance to review Killing Floor 3 and as part of our review, we checked it out on the Steam Deck! I had no belief that this would be playable, but it definitely is. As long as you play on low settings with Lumen turned off, we can get 40 FPS playing solo and around 30 FPS playing online with friends. There may be drops with higher difficulties and more people on your team, but it's still very playable.

If you want more details, you can check out our review in written or video form:

Hi there, just a quick story I wanted to share.

I only commute into NYC on Thursdays. I usually bring my Steam Deck and play some games on the train. But lately, work’s been nuts. New CEO, lots going on. So I’ve been trying to use that train time to get a bit more work done. For the past 3 Thursdays, I’ve left the Steam Deck at home on purpose.

And weirdly… these 3 days, the person sitting next to me on the train has had a Steam Deck.

I’ve been doing this commute for 4 years and have never seen another Steam Deck on the train until now. Then suddenly, 3 weeks in a row, I leave mine at home, and someone beside me is playing one?

Is that wild or what? Is the universe trying to tell me to play more? Probably.

Anyway. That’s it. Just thought it was kinda funny.

Something extra to point out, 2 out of the 3 people have answered that they are “new gamers” after I asked them what they are playing, and they all asked for recommendations…. (Which one I always give is Firewatch)
