Hello, everyone! I'm sorry to announce that this communities home instance Lemm.ee is shutting down for good. Unfortunately, Lemmy's capabilities are are too limited to save this place, or move it over to another instance.

There are 3rd party tools I have seen mentioned, but they are a pain and not a good substitute for a full migration.

With that being said, this will be the end of this community. Parts and pieces of it should be saved on other instances. This will depend on when other users subscribed from the instance you're on. For the major ones, I subscribed a while back, just in-case this were to happen.

All images from this instance will be broken, but it should function still as a museum since the time the first person subscribed from your Lemmy instance.

It's been awesome sharing this time with everyone here, and I hope that you enjoyed the content shared from our community, and maybe even learned about a new game, or two while you were here!

Thank you for stopping by in this little corner for rhythm games, if you have any other communities you want to shout out, please say them here!

I pretty much only play on PC, and honestly I’m not very good, or deep into the scene. I’m mostly a causal enjoyer, and an audience member to the better members of the broader community. So that’s why I’m asking for your help.

Please post quality games with a link, and we can make this together. It will take a while and be a work in progress, but eventually we’ll get there. Here’s what we have so far, tell me if a game is low quality, and I can remove it.

I won't be a bastion of content for everyone here, because realistically, I really don't have anything to offer. This place will have to be built by the community. I'll fill in where I can.

This time around, it's geared toward the end of Early Access at the tail-end of this month, as opposed to the last two, which were about Chapters 1 and 3, respectively.

Noted to be primarily releasing on Steam next year, it seems a bit odd there's no gameplay previews yet, although, like vivid/stasis, it'll be more story-focused and have more songs at the start (exactly 70, 40 of which are originals).

takes place in a world where music is illegal, apparently

Back in 2017, with no prior coding or game development experience, I decided to learn Unity and started work on Game Over.

Up until the pre-release reviews were giving it 10/10, 8.5/10 & 8/10 (Pizza Fria, Checkpoint Gaming, Thumb Culture respectively), I was dead set nervous that the game might be no good.

It comes out today on Steam (in half an hour, feel like I'm gonna barf). I've met some of my best playtesters here on Lemmy, so I'm happy to announce it here specifically!

Rock Band is 17 years old today!

I wrote about how I set up an electronic drum kit and YARG to relive the fun. There are a lot of tips to fix the timing issues and get straight to drumming.

I had some trouble recently setting up the LTEK dance pad with e.g. Project Outfox on the steam deck, so here is a quick guide:

Problem:

  • LTEK up arrow not recognized by steam deck or project outfox

Solution:

  • Navigate to steam menu->controller->test device inputs->begin test
  • Click "setup device inputs", I did this by using tab on a USB keyboard but it may also be possible w/onscreen keyboard or touchscreen
  • Press the buttons on the pad to change the steam deck mapping to e.g. ABXY. Other settings can be skipped.

All four buttons should now be recognized by apps. You can change the mapping as needed within project outfox now.

I thought I would never be able to do 20's, but here i am surpassing my own expectations, maybe some day I'll be somewhat as good as Staiain (now Lily) or Etienne

I wish those of you reading this good scores today :)

Ah yes, another small deep dive into the RG rabbit hole, but this time, I somehow aced a bit on my third played chart.

L9 OLD EASY MM!!!

I have tried it a lot of times for a week with a lot of "1 miss", "stupid bad" runs but now I'm able to kill it! My heart is blazing too fast... 'cuz the track is really long, about 5 mins or 6 mins so it gets really annoying when making mistakes, even the small one.
This is the 2nd MM of those old easy charts in chapter L (actually I don't want to upload my L10 MM since I don't find it worth to be proud)

I've liked Spin Rhythm XD with custom songs available on https://spinsha.re/. There's also OSU which was the first Rhythm game for me.

Beat Saber seems to be another good one, but unfortunately I don't have VR.

SpootyBiscuit is an incredible rhythmn game player. He plays multiple rhythmn games, this is his debut of a non-speedrunable game, there are many Crypt of the NecroDancer runs from him if you want to check them out.

I love all the rhythm game showcases at GDQ and always want to promote not only the player, the game, but also the charity event. I think everyone should check these out!
