One day I was driving from College Station, Texas to Houston Texas. I was about halfway through the trip somewhere between Hempstead and Cypress. I always would notice these contrails in that area. But not horizontal. They were always vertical. I always wondered if there was some secret launch site or something there. Well one day I’m in that area driving because I make that trip all the time and I see something waaaaaay far off in the distance. It’s middle of the daytime but it’s very hazy and overcast. But I see this little white tic tac looking thing just floating toward the right. I think to myself “hmmm that’s a very interesting craft”. And out of nowhere I shit you not, this purple beam like a light saber from Star opens itself up directly in front of this things flight path. The white thing cruises into the purple been and the craft just disappears. The purple beam then contracts into itself and disappears exactly the same way it appeared. I about had to pull over to get myself together. It was the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen.

TL;DR: I saw a while craft flying in the sky. A purple beam appeared in its flight path and the thing flew right into it and disappeared. The beam the. Contracted back into itself and also disappeared.

My boyfriend and I went out around 10:30 to go catch possums and raccoons at my schools arboretum one night. I’ve run these trails for months 2-4 times a week at early hours of the morning when it was still dark. I know them inside out and I’m comfortable with them. We walked my normal route, which just consists of taking the first path left and then walking forward with zero turns. This takes you around the perimeter of the arboretum where you can literally see the football field and residential houses. We’d been walking about 45 minutes when I hear a noise to the left of me like a small animal and I look around in the bushes (the grass here isn’t too long). He points toward the trail and asks if I see a deer. I’ve got pretty good night vision and senses, I’ve been walking the woods by myself since I was like 10/11. I didn’t see it but he just kept pointing and saying that it was moving and even said it leaped across the trail at one point. By this point the woods were completely silent save for some very faint bug noises but I saw and heard nothing.

I jokingly asked him if he was hallucinating and he made an offhand comment about how it was unusual for a deer to be by itself. We didn’t think anything of it until after we got out if the trail. We walk another mile or so and the terrain looks totally unfamiliar and smells super strong like weed and burning. I look at him and tell him that this wasn’t the trail I usually took and I had no idea where we were. About there the path forked into a very dark path forward and a small trail to the right which was the direction of the entrance. Despite his insistence we go forward I took us right. After not even 15 feet of walking that direction, I hear a faint crunch of a branch to my right and ask something like “did you hear that.” He takes his phone out and turns the light on and I start looking in the field thinking it’s an armadillo or something. The grass here is incredible dense, easily 4 feet tall and up to my lower chest, but there’s no trees (we verified on maps). He’s holding the phone above my head for about 45 seconds to a minute and then he just says my name and to look. I finally look above where I was searching the grass and I see a pair of blue slanted eyes about 9 feet tall almost like those of a mountain lion so bright they looked like they were glowing even without the right. I watched them scan from his eyes to mine and then it started moving diagonally completely silently. I grab his wrist and tell him “we have to go” and start pulling him back from the trail. I told him not to run because in my mind I was trying to rationalize this being a bear. He walked backward and kept his eyes on it while I led us out forward. I took glances back occasionally and I could see it stalking us at about a 10 foot distance. It kept moving crookedly and almost completely silent. The bushes didn’t seem to move as it walked the only thing you’d hear is the occasional crack of a small twig. After about a half mile of this it lets out a shriek (for lack of a better word) like nothing I’ve heard before. I’ve heard mountain lions and coyotes but this was completely different. At that point we ran out of there, screaming prayers. We could hear the crickets and other bugs crescendo and get louder as we made our way back.

I called my stepdad and explained what happened to him and he stayed on the line while we made our way out. Neither he nor I are very superstitious, we would even make jokes about my mom burning sage in our house to get rid of bad energy, but I could tell by his voice he believed us and was trying to get us out without panicking us more. The whole time we were running my boyfriend kept telling me things like “this isn’t the right path, we need to turn” even though it was just a straight shot back. Once we made it out he couldn’t stop looking toward the woods and kept telling me his body was telling him to go back and things like that. It was super unsettling. I didn’t start to panic until we got back to his house. I couldn’t stand going home alone and walking by that forest at night to get back to my dorm so I stayed at his place until sunrise. Every time I tried to close my eyes to sleep I saw images of the eyes and these fucked up deer. I didn’t sleep for about 48 hours and when I finally did it was a restless 2 or 3 hours nap. I’ve had extreme paranoia since being back and can’t stand to go anywhere without him on the phone.

We’ve tried to rationalize it but nothing makes sense. It didn’t move or sound like a bear (I’ve seen plenty), and there were no trees for it to have been a panther, not to mention the fact there’s never been a sighting in this part of Florida for several miles. Nothing else but possibly a panther could’ve had those eyes or that scream nor stalked us through the woods the way it did. The only other thing I could imagine was a drone of some type but the woods were dead silent and we never heard any mechanical sounds

When I was about 7 I was at my uncles house upstairs when his oldest daughter called me into her room from the leading hallway. As I reached the doorframe I saw this huge almost crimson red furry/fuzzy “presence” through the crack of her full opened door. The door opens towards the room so for this thing to be very tall and husky it wouldn’t make sense for it to fit behind the door but I could just tell it was massive. I want to say the closest thing I could describe to the “furry” texture of this thing is similar to sully from monsters inc. the thing didn’t have eyes but I could tell it was looking down at me. Right after seeing it I started crying leading to my cousin freaking out checking behind the door and finding nothing. Idk maybe since I was literally 7 years old it could have been a hallucination? It just seemed so real and really stuck itself in my head for me to still think about it every now and then. I’m 22 years old now and this thing is still something I can’t explain. Has anybody else ever seen something similar to the vague description I could provide? I don’t think a ghost would appear big furry and red. Maybe a demon?

Today I moved out of the house that I have lived in for 10 of the most important years of mine and my children’s lives. I will pre-note that I have been able to see and somewhat communicate since I was around 5 years old (now 30).

There were many “beings” or “spirits” (whatever you prefer to call them) there the whole time we lived there. Today one of them said goodbye and it honestly made it harder to leave, it was heartwarming in my opinion.

When we first moved into this house, they were not happy. Things would go flying across the room randomly right in front of us with no one else to have done anything, lights would get turned off or on, doors would get opened or shut, basically just wreaking any havoc possible. They would never show theirselves during these times though. I kept calm with having dealt with this my whole life and would just explain to them that I’m sorry they’re unhappy with our presence but that we were staying and hopefully it would get better and that was that.

Things calmed down a few months in to living there. Gradually over the years they would show themselves to me and communicate when they wanted to. I always did anything I could to help them have comfort or whatever they needed that was within my power. There were a few that never wanted to be friendly but I did what I could.

Anyways, today was our last day there. As I was doing a walkthrough of the house to make sure we didn’t miss anything, one of them decided to what I believe was saying goodbye. A little boy who had always been friendly sat in my son’s room and tossed a small ball towards me. Trying not to draw any attention towards me I just lightly kicked the ball back and I turned around and left.

My heart sank after that. I never thought I would be saying goodbye to any of them. It was bittersweet. I hope whoever ends up living there will be of good company to these beautiful souls that I’ve spent so many good years of my life with.

Tl;dr: lived with and got along with spirits for 10 years and moved out today and one said goodbye and it was sad and sweet at the same time.

This happened to me when I was sleeping at my godmother's house. I always slept in the living room, alone, on a mattress on the floor. I was never afraid of being there — it was peaceful.

But one night, something completely out of the ordinary happened.

I was woken up by being pulled by my foot. Half drowsy, I got up asking for my godfather, because he was the one who always woke me up. But when I looked closer, it wasn't him.

It was a creature.

His eyes were bigger than his face, he looked half humanoid, with black skin, and what struck me most: he was wearing red swimming trunks. That image never left my head, even years later.

I screamed in fright. And then he screamed too, as if he was scared of me. Then he ran into the kitchen, knocking over the pans that were hanging on the wall.

I ran to my godmother's children's room, knocking desperately on the door until they opened it. They took me inside and, when I told them what had happened, they didn't pay much attention. They put me in a hammock and asked me to try to sleep.

That's when the second part of things started.

In the middle of the night, the sounds of drums began outside the house. And suddenly, I felt a hand running slowly across my back. I couldn't scream. I couldn't move. I just accepted that, feeling my hand for hours, until dawn.

When the sun rose, everything stopped. But I could never understand what happened that night. To this day, when I tell this story, I still get goosebumps.

I shop estate sales frequently as I am a reseller of all things vintage. I always carry a small cloth covered wire shopping basket over my arm to hold treasure. I was shopping a local sale a couple weeks ago held at a house built around the 1950’s when an odd thing happened that I have not been able to get out of my head. I was alone in what would have been a nice home office, desk, stereo, dark paneling and a shelf wall of books. I was looking at the books when something grabbed my basket & gave it a hard yank. I had seen kids earlier and thought maybe one of them was in the office, I looked around and was surprised that I was completely alone. I did not bump against any furniture & no one else was around. I’ve gotten the creeps at some of the sales I’ve been to but this actual interaction was a first.

Hello, my sister gave me a dressing table that has a large mirror and is in front of the bed, since I put it there, I have been having nightmares, I had sleep paralysis and I saw someone in the mirror coming out of it and walking towards me, and after that there were +18 scenes in the nightmare.

Although I ask for help because of what happened to me today, I have a fever and I am very weak, throughout the afternoon I have been drugged (I do not consume any type of substances or alcohol), my left arm started to hurt out of nowhere, my body felt like a dead body, I tried to be well, but I simply couldn't, then I was talking to my boyfriend, and he was listening to everything I was saying, among those things I told him that I had to go towards people's light to steal their energy. Right now I'm fine, but I have NEVER done something like this, can someone please tell me if it's because of the mirror? And if so, what can I do?

I would have just thought I was hallucinating had my mother not seen the same thing. In 2009 I lost my best friend to suicide. The day after his burial me and my mom went to his graveside to leave some trinkets. We were getting ready to leave when we looked to the far side of the cemetery because someone caught our eye. I looked harder and I swear it was my friend waving at me and her. I asked my mom if she saw what I was seeing and she immediately said yes, I definitely see it, Josh is telling us goodbye. We jumped in the truck and almost spun tires to get to that section of the cemetery. We get there and it's no one there. Absolutely no one. I find comfort in this because I felt such guilt about not knowing what he was planning on doing. He was smiling so big and waving so hard at us. This is a moment me and my mom will forever cherish. I have no doubt it was him💓

So my 6 year old son saw a mimic yesterday, me and my wife were downstairs entertaining our other kids when my eldest son came quite quickly down the stairs and was rather freaked out. With a little prying he tells us he just saw me upstairs in our room (which is opposite his) slowly backing away into the darkness with white glowing eyes smiling. What freaks me out is I do stuff like this with him, I'll do that to make him jump and then he runs into my room to 'attack' me, but the fact this thing must have known doing this would normally draw him into the room... luckily my boy has good sense and instantly realised it was not me.

It is time to do a house cleansing I think.

This happened a few years ago, and I can’t stop thinking about it. My dad has a history of mental health struggles, but nothing like this has ever happened before. He wasn’t in a bad place mentally at the time, and nothing in the days leading up to it suggested he was unstable or delusional. He was just… normal. And then he wasn’t.

It was late at night. We were all at home. My dad got up from his chair without a word and walked straight out the back door. Not fast. Not panicked. Just…like he was going somewhere he already knew.

We called after him, but he didn’t respond. After a few minutes, when he didn’t come back, we went looking.

We found him about half an hour later. He was standing in an old overgrown graveyard that’s deep in the woods behind our property. He had no shoes on. He was standing completely still between two headstones with his eyes wide open, just staring at something none of us could see.

He didn’t respond when we spoke. He didn’t even blink. We were about to call 911 when suddenly he gasped, looked right at us, and whispered, “I almost had it.”

When we got him home, he was quiet for a while. Then he started talking—not scared, not confused, just flat and calm, like he was describing something that had already happened.

He said someone had walked him into the woods. He doesn’t know who or what it was—only that it didn’t feel human, but it didn’t feel threatening either. “It felt old,” he said. “Like it had always been there.”

He said the woods changed. The trees weren’t right. The sky was blank. And in the middle of everything was a huge tree—dead-looking, but alive. No leaves. Just keys. Hundreds of them, maybe thousands, swaying gently even though there was no wind.

Each key was different. Some were small and silver, others were rusted, old-fashioned, even handmade. He said every person has a key. And you have to catch yours to get into heaven.

There were other people there, standing around the tree. Not talking. Just watching. A Civil War soldier. A woman humming. A child holding nothing in their hands. They weren’t ghosts exactly. They weren’t alive either. He said they looked like people in waiting.

The tree started shaking. He said his key began to glow—not with light, but with recognition. Like it knew him. He tried to climb. Tried to reach it. But right before he could touch it, he heard us calling him from the woods. And everything stopped.

He doesn’t know if he was supposed to come back. He doesn’t know if he failed something.

But the part that chills me is what he said last:

“I wasn’t scared. I think I’m supposed to go back someday.”

This wasn’t a hallucination. This wasn’t just “an episode.” I saw the look in his eyes when we found him in that graveyard. He wasn’t there. He was somewhere else.

I’ve tried looking into stories of trees with keys or visions like this but haven’t found much. Has anyone else heard of something like this?

I don’t know if it was spiritual, paranormal, or something else entirely. I just know it felt real and I believe him.

I said I'd write my story to some folks in another sub that asked to hear my story. It was too long to comment so hear it is.

This is absolutely 100% true. Never wanted to post it til now because I know what happened as does my brother, and I don't really need to hear criticism.

This is a long read.

Okay so here in the Sierra Nevada's is the only place I've heard of this specific one. Really it's more of a local legend. You can take this with all the grains of salt you need to but I swear this story to be true and I have my brother to back me up. This might be a bit long.

So growing up, I didn't live on a reservation but about 5 miles away from the closest one. It actually butts up to my grandfather's property. Still grew up with everyone. All the elders are very spiritual. My dad was a special case. He was surrounded by paranormal activity all through his childhood. He'd talk about it when he was drunk, which was quite often. Coincidentally he drank to "keep the demons at bay" so to say.

There was this one legend that he told me early on. Living in a very rural mountain house on a road known for its activity, even rural compared to the small town, boys and men would pee outside quite often. Just quick and easy. My dad though, he always kicked dirt over his pee, yes like a dog. I asked him when I was real young and imitating him one time why he did that. He told me a story that I never forgot, because it scared the shit out of me.

He said that there's an ancient medicine man, neither man nor beast, something in-between. Now this medicine man wasn't a healer, he was evil. He told me that when a native man or kid (usually kids) wouldn't step off the trail to pee, they need to kick dirt over their pee. If they don't the medicine man -he has a name that you're not to speak or he hears you- will walk the trails at night, once he comes across your scent he'll pick a handful of dirt from where you peed and smell it. He puts it in a medicine bag he wears around his neck and begins to hunt you. He hunts at night, especially if you're a bad kid.

I will say his name starts with a W and sounds like (Tat-moo). Gives me the chills thinking about his name.

Well, my brother and I kinda grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. At the time I was a big pothead with no money, my brother was a full blown drug addict who moved back in for a few months just as I had when I was about 19, putting him at about 26. We were...doing a lot of bad stuff especially in the neighboring community. Definitely "bad kids".

So when I was in highschool there was a guy who moved on our road, between our place and my grandpa's ranch. He grew a LOT of weed. I knew the trail to get there and me and a few buddies went and cut his crop in the night one summer. It was a good summer needless to say.

Bored one night hanging with my brother I told him about the crop, turns out he knew about it too. We decided to go that night and get some fresh buds.

Now our road is long, windy, one lane, and dark. Extremely dark. There was a little moonlight out so we could see but not much, our eyes adjusted. My brother being paranoid (on stimulants) decided we should walk the old railroad grade that runs parallel to the road, but beneath. It's where people travelled when the road was still a railroad. I agreed but said we should go up to the main road because that's where the trailhead to the guys place was marked with a red gate.

Well my brother (genius he thinks he is) says the dogs will bark and there will be trail cams. The time I went we just took all the trail cams and no evidence. I digress. He says let's stay on the trail and cut through the brush. So we tried that and failed as the brush was practically a wall.

Now at this point we're a lot closer to our grandfather's property and we're close with a guy who rents a house on the other side of the property. (About 1,200 acre property that I now live on) So we decided to go to his place and stay the rest of the night.

A few things you should know. My grandpa refuses to speak anything paranormal but he's adamant that you do not go on his property without permission and if you are given permission you stick to where he tells you, and lastly you never EVER go past the yard on his property at night. We tried countless times to get even my dad to talk about it, but he'd just say something like "you don't want to be there after midnight. Trust me." My dad is not a fearful man.

Along the road there's a waterfall where a bridge crosses, at that point the railroad grade is thousands of yards beneath it, so you cross the creek. It was dry as it was middle of summer. We stopped there and I took a pee, well we both did. I don't know why but I didn't kick dirt. I thought about it while walking away but didn't say anything.

Okay at this point I realize I forgot to mention I had a shotgun and my brother had his compound bow, one of the reasons we decided to stay off the road even with little traffic. This is when shit kinda hits the fan.

There's three houses on my grandfather's land, we were coming up the hill to the one he rents to a lovely old couple. We're walking up this road that used to be used to transport cattle but hadn't been used in a while, and we're being as silent as we can as we aren't supposed to be there. On our left is an open field, at our 10 o'clock the road continues, on our right the road is cut into a hill so a wall of dirt above our heads. I'm 6'1" to give you an idea of the height.

As we're walking, well creeping really, on high alert we both hear something. Sounds like a horse but there are no more horses on the property, not for years. We both exchange looks that we can barely see as it's so dark and before we know it, it's running at us. Not galloping. Running. Two hooves hitting the ground in very long strides. Strides that tell you this thing is probably 2-3 feet taller than us.

I'm not too prideful to admit that I froze in my tracks, shotgun in hand. Didn't even aim it. My brother lept backwards and claims he drew his bow, but didn't release an arrow. We were dumbstruck. This thing is coming at us like a freight train in a few seconds that felt like hours and you can hear it's breathing, huffing hard like a buffalo or a very big bull.

We could hardly make out the outline but it was tall and humanoid, my mind pictured scraggly for on horse like legs running on cloven hooves in my last few moments, or so I thought. As the thing gets spitting distance to us I realized and my brother later recounts ... There's something chasing it.

I have no frame of reference for what was behind it because it drew in the darkness and was blacker than the night, that's the only reason you could see the outline of this thing that I liken to what a saber tooth tiger must look like.

It was fast. It had run the same distance it had in just a couple seconds it seemed and was on the hooved things tail just as it's hooves planted one last time mere feet from me. With one more "SHHOOOOFFF" of breath it leapt clear above us onto the bank behind, and whatever was chasing it slid hard like a horse breaking for dear life and then poof. It was just fucking gone. Nothing.

All we hear is the thing now still running behind us through manzanita and oak trees snapping giant limbs like a bulldozer in the night.

We stood. Regained our composure..what was left of it.. and charted our course. We still had quite a ways to go to get to our friends place. Do we go in the direction of whatever was behind the thing, or do we take a lesser used trail behind the old folks house and towards the hooved beast still snapping limbs and stalking around in the darkness?

Might have been foolish of us but we both decided we don't want to deal with whatever was chasing it. So we went towards the beast as quietly as we could.

We heard the odd step and branch break behind us as we made it the rest of the way. We both felt an immediate sense of calm the moment we passed the gate that bordered the yard of the house. We woke up our friend and shared a cigarette as we told him the story, still shaking and hardly wanting to speak about it.

To this day I don't know what we came across, we never spoke to Grandpa about it, and this is the first time I've written it out. I'm 30 now and I live in the house that we were trying to make it to all night. I don't venture passed my gate at night unless I'm driving out. I think we saw the medicine man though.. my brother still isn't sure.

So, last night (actually early this morning) I was laying in bed, trying to fall asleep, and my thoughts meandered to my dad, who passed away in 1994.

Currently, I am going through what may end up being a profound (in a positive way) situation. I was feeling deeply emotional/spiritual about this situation, when all of the sudden something in my head felt like my dad was telling me, “Be a good (my nickname)”. Automatically, I thought “I will”.

My right leg happened to be sticking out from the covers and A SPLIT SECOND after my thought, I felt a distinct sensation come over my toes.

It felt like all 5 were being gently squeezed together all at once, similar to how it would feel if a giant rubber band was wrapped around them. The feeling lingered a good 3-4 seconds.

Not only that, but the sensation was electrical/vibrational, similar to how your wrist feels when the haptics of a smartwatch draws your attention to an incoming notification or message, but this felt slightly stronger and more distinct, and lasted longer.

Immediately thereafter, the most intense chill crawled slowly up my entire right leg!!!!

I describe it as “comforting” in quotes because it did come out of nowhere, and left me frightened in a sense. Not in a scary way, but in a “WTF was that? Who/what is messing with me?” kind of way.

The fact that the vibration happened IMMEDIATELY after I thought “I will”, as well as the fact that I was feeling emotionally/spiritually intense leading up to the sensation, it makes me believe my dad was reaching out to me, affirming he is aware of the profound positive situation I am potentially facing, and he was gently sending his approval.

Either that…..or I had a mini-seizure in my toes and leg. Lol. (And just for the sake of argument, even if it was a foot seizure after all, I just can’t get over the exact timing of it, though! What are the odds that I would feel such a distinct sensation at the exact moment I thought “I will”?!?)
