I’m level 28.

My character is most likely locked out of the [RETIREMENT] story quest.

I spent too much time in my lower levels doing side quests when I should have been grinding gold.

I’m also sure my character is also locked out of the [Obtain a Degree] and [Start a Family] quest line.

Character has a subset of debuffs that make it hard to do so such as [crazy] , [dumb], [socially awkward], [ugly], and my character owes a considerable amount of gold to various large guilds.

Just feels like I’m leveling up without any meaningful gameplay. And that’s it. That’s the game for this character.

What is the max level attainable at the moment? It seems that as you level up from 50+, some of your stats starts to go down. What is the peak level to maximize use of [strength] and [charisma] to gain some new party members?

I see a lot of confusion on this forum and just wanted to remind players of a couple important things:

  1. Countries are NOT servers, old players created that way of zoning the playing area and new players maintain them, remember this game is as sandbox as it gets.
  2. We are all on the same server, its theorized there are other servers somewhere but it's not proven and we currently have no way to know and much less transfer accounts so if this server goes down, this game is done.
  3. Government bodies are NOT devs, all of their authority comes from the playerbase, we have no way of reaching devs.

Anything else you want too clarify?

I've been playing on the US server forever, and I'm starting to get the sense that most of the admins on this server are just here to support the pay 2 win players. I know it gets alot worse on other servers too. I just want to have fun grinding and gaining xp with my guild but these fucking neckbeards that spend MILLIONS of dollars to effect the meta are ruining the fun of the game. whatever, I still like the game but it would be better if p2w was put in check a little bit.

I've just acquired two Eclectus Parrots for 1,600 credits. They're basically just OP companions with their vibrant plumage (which adds +5% distraction), exceptional mimicry skill-trees (this adds +13.5% distraction), and unwavering loyalty stats. They're like rare, legendary pets, boosting my charisma stat and making every player feel intimidated. These are one of, if not the best purchase you can get from the GumTree forest's market. If these were nerfed then I'd probably never see the fun in this game ever again.

Has anyone else noticed this? In previous versions a 1v1 was pretty fair. Although the winner largely depended on your build you also had to actually be skilled in whatever combat path you’d chosen. It’d be perfectly reasonable for a level 18 player to defeat a level 32 player in combat given that the lower level player had practiced with their weapon of choice more. Even if you argued the level 32 player is the one who has the disadvantage because of debuffs you gain as you level up, their higher experience stat is enough to balance it out.

Now we have firearms which have insanely low cool downs, relatively low stat requirements, and reasonable carry weights. It’s almost a no brainier to use them, and almost every player who engages in hardcore mode combat these days will have no qualms with doing so

I know the relevance of fair 1v1s has gone down as the game has been updated, and players have preserved the old style of 1v1s through competitive ranked matches, but it just doesnt feel the same to me.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

A member of my clan introduced a new player to the game and so far their performance has been less than stellar:

  • They constantly spam voice chat with incomprehensible nonsense.
  • They have by far their weakest stats so a senior player always has to babysit their gameplay, yet
  • everyone insists on bringing them along to every raid.
  • They use a lot of resources but don’t contribute anything in return. Most of the time they are just afk.

When I try to point out their shortcomings to them it seems like they dont even understand what I'm saying. My clan insists the noob will level up at some point so I‘m still hopeful. Honestly, I’m starting to grow fond of the player, even though I think they're just doing it all for attention. Any thoughts?

For some reason my character just refuses to do sidequests from the academic campaign, he overall always had good grades but recently has been slacking off and not doing the portable puzzles needed the next sunlight cycle. Today a big sidequest was activated and it’s time sensitive, he has 48 hours to finish but just doesn’t sit down and activate it like it’s locked or something, whenever I look for it in the menu my stats start dropping (mainly happiness). What can I do to activate this sidequest and prevent this debuff from happening again?

Any ideas how one would re-spec into better circulation? Is there a mod for it, or is it just a bug? Defo not fun everything my character stands up the screen goes black.

Poorly designed gameplay ngl 2/10

I've seen some people saying they can "Shift to another reality" How do they do that? I don't even see the exit button anywhere so I could play another game besides this one.

The main quest was "Beach Day" and on the way we encountered a wet dog strolling on the streets. A side quest marker called "Wet Pet" showed up with the objective "Hold the pet". My wife casted "Sweet talk" and captured the thing easy.

We then got a new objective "Show the wet pet to the nearest vet" and we went on to the vet (about 30 minutes walk). On the way we encountered a HL NPC on a two wheeled mount who asked us if it was our pet we were holding. We answered it was not and he told us it was his lieutenant's familiar. He offered to take the dog back to his lieutenant at the oyster farm, and then promised us 12 fresh oysters as a reward.

Pretty cool unexpected side quest, started as pretty tideous but the reward was totally worth it, would recommend! Sadly I didn't think of taking a screenshot of the dog but it was a very cute Irish setter ❤️

Also I find the pun with the word "pet" in french pretty funny 😁

rng randomly gifted me this debuff where other players seem to not want to be in my party, even though they clearly do enjoy playing together. any advice on what this debuff could be or how to remove it?

I'm currently stuck on the main quest, I think I need to do some side quest but can't find any. What are some side quest suited for level 16?

I thought the item "belt" is just a cosmetic meant to hold up your pants. Guess what? When my dad returned home with the "Drunk" debuff, he used the belt as a weapon on me and I took a lot of physical and emotional damage.

Please nerf this cosmetic/weapon.

My character is a male with the autism trait, therefore he needs a lot of items in his inventory at any given time for various trait-related tasks and bonuses.

As a result, I usually leave him with a backpack equipped most of the time, however I have been hearing more and more lately that it makes my character look like silly and that backpacks are usually for lower level players.

Is there like a better, more acceptable option for inventory management? I don’t want to equip anything that resembles a purse due to a few bad early game experiences.

I was about to shower to refill my hygiene meter. I noticed the towel inventory was low so I went downstairs to the laundry room to refill it and on my way back up stairs my romance companion started this new side objective to place the items from the wash in the dryer. I was just in that location, backtracking always sucks.

During a weekend bon fire event with my children two weeks ago I got really dizzy and caught myself, then it felt like someone grabbed my brain and squeezed all the fear out of it. The first time it has ever happened. Now I keep feeling the debuff activating but no where near as bad as the first time. How do I get this removed?

I'm struggling to understand the developers lately. They've been making outside itself way too grindy and nerfed the reward system. Now we're getting less gold and the levels are way harder! Why are so many of the minigames inside the game so much more fun than the game itself?!? I find myself going to the computer and playing minigames more and more to the detriment of my overall progress and I'm thinking about logging off for good or just restarting...

Hey all,

Level 27 human male here. Been playing Outside for a while now, and I've honestly been loving it so far!

I had an amazing time with the tutorial, and schooling quests all went great. I have excellent relationships with all of my clan, and my clan leaders I think set me up for easy exp later in the game. Overall, this game has been pretty fantastic, and I consider myself lucky for the RNG I got with my spawn.

Currently, I'm rolling with a very rich guild, that pays me lots of gold. Far more than most people on my Friends list, and even in my entire clan, including the higher level players. I feel extremely lucky to have joined. In fact, I'm not sure any other guild would pay me this much at my level.

However, I'm starting to have second thoughts about my level progression. You see, my guild has been sending me on some pretty interesting quests to other servers on the other side of the map. I've done around 7 of these quests this level, and I'm really falling in love with the content.

I really like this other server. It's so different than my home server, and the community is so amazing. I have a growing Friends list over there, and I feel like if I were to ever switch servers, it should be in my lower levels where I don't have many main quests going on (family quest, pet, player-owned-house, etc.).

But the problem is, my guild doesn't want to pay the gold to transfer my character. So recently, I feel like this quest has split paths, and I'm not sure which one to take.

It would feel bad and scary to abandon the lucky hand of been dealt so far. But like I mentioned, there may never be a better time to play through these quests.

Basically,

I can either stick with my guild, continue leveling up my job class, make tons of gold, and stay near my clan.

OR

I can transfer my character the other server, pursue the game content which I love, try and find a new guild, risk experience in my job class, and forfeit all of the gold I'm making, despite how lucky of a situation I've had.
