Computers slow down over time. Its happened to every phone and computer I've ever had.

So, my car has a computer and its pretty old, way older than most laptops out there.. Why doesn't it get slower? Or does it?

My gf wants to break her lease to move in with her parents to same some money for a month or two to be able to move in with me, and she sent a very professional message to her landlords telling them she’ll be moving out before her lease is up (fulling expecting things like not getting her deposit back, etc etc) and they said this to her. That seems so fucked; I mean they could straight up not look for a new tenant for months (lease ends in March) and collect free easy rent until then

Me 27(gender fluid) As a kid I used to put the cover over my head and think of different scenarios that I would be sleeping in. Everyone in my family suffers from some form of insomnia. So this is always been a way to help me go to sleep. But I like to dream like I’m about to fall asleep after a long day of scavenging and surviving the zombie apocalypse on alien invasion. Now, as an adult sometimes I still do it. Sometimes I go on YouTube and I look different sleeping ASMR channels that have different videos with themes to them. Preferably the ones that do like CGI videos with it. Like I found some that’s like you’re sleeping in a Gotham city apartment with Batman outside of your window, while rain is pouring down. There’s you’re sleeping in a fortress with zombie surrounding it.

I usually don’t dream of that stuff which is interesting. But it’s fun to do. I’ve always had a very active imagination. But I do know that I am an adult, sp technically I shouldn’t be doing this anymore. But sometimes it’s literally the only way I can go to sleep. Anyway I see all this to say is this normal? The other adults do this?

I am 35 and have a twin sister that lives with me, we rarely ever speak and it is mostly small talk and it has been that way our entire life. My sister works at a grocery store in produce and I work for coke as a salesman.

I recently had a route change and service the store she works at and said I wont talk to her or mention her since I know she is a private person. And I got to say she is the life of the party at that store. I see her joking and laughing with fellow employees and day flirting with customers, I saw her get loud and sing along when taylor swift played on the in store radio etc. everyone loves her there

I just have never once seen that side of her and I know she is an introvert and keeps to herself but at work she is the complete opposite

Hear me out stay with me here. I always thought it would be cool if someone invented a way to convert trash to fuel so you could have a car with a trash can in it that powers your vehicle.

Ok I’ll admit I have thin privilege and I fit comfortably in any plane seat. But there’s been a few times where my seat mate was just spilling into my seat. I never know what to do here- I don’t want to make the person feel bad and be a jerk, but I also don’t think it’s fair to have my ride encumbered by someone who should’ve bought two seats. In the past when I’ve asked to put the arm rest down, they say they can’t because it doesn’t fit.

Yeah a little hyperbolic but the point stands.

My current PC is nearly 2 years old now and the 4090 has such a good reviews but I can't justify the upgrade since I'd also have to get a bigger power supply and quite likely a bigger case.

How do people do it?

Im 21, and have never really drank or anything so im nervous that the people there would make fun of me for what i choose to get, since i dont know what brands are 'good' or worth the price or anything at all about alcohol. I've been to a few liquor stores but only got small stuff to try, and everyone has been kind to me and underatanding that im new at this, but im still afraid they'll laugh at me for wanting like a Fireball or something

Cats to me are lovely creatures, and I get a lot of joy from owning one. But I know quite a lot of people have very strong feelings against cats which I find sad. Why do many people not like cats?

One of those mozart type songs, it doesn’t have words and I don’t know how to say it but I’ll try anyway. Something like “da. da da. da da da da da DA! Da. Da da. Da da da da da duh!

In like a violin or some typa strings instrument.

I'm not sure why but I keep getting recommended culture war bullshit (People like Andrew Tate, Bem Shapiro or Jordan Peterson) on social media like YouTube and Instagram.

Why do these algorithms keep recommending this shit even when I am NOT interested?

Is it some weird propaganda thing?

I can't do shit without drinking 3 cups of something caffeinated first. Meanwhile, my dad just takes a 2-minute shower and carries on with his day. I don't understand him. How do you people like my dad function without any caffeine?

Firstly, I understand this question might come from a place of emotion, but I genuinely don't understand how we as a culture and economy have gotten to this point. And I understand there might not really be a "good' answer here.

For context, I was just reading about the Walgreens CEO stepping down. What baffled me was when I got to the point when she'll be leaving with a 9 million dollar severance, 375K consultant fee for the next few months, and fully vested stocks. Now, I'll fully admit I don't know what it takes to run a company that size (or any size), but from the outside looking in, it would appear she failed in her duties and yet will receive more money than many people will make in a lifetime.

And yes...I've seen questions like this before, and I typically see some folks justify the executive compensation by saying they are acting as the face of the company and taking the risk. But from this angle it seems you can still fail and be rewarded for it?

Basically, I'm in the northern hemisphere and my backyard is East facing + my neighbour has a huge extension basically blocking out loads of sweet day light

Is there a product around that would effectively be a really large (like 2m square, probably circular and convex to really bounce that light all around) that I could install at the top of my fence to bounce some sun into my backyard?

Or am I a moron?

As a man I hear the phrase "I'm hormonal" or "my hormones made me do that" and never understood what that means. Can you tell when your hormones are making you think different? Is it just an excuse to act out of line? Which leads me to wonder can men get hormonal? Have never heard it from a man.

Hi all. I was wondering about this scene from the show Breaking Bad. One of the characters is Hector Salamanca. He is from Mexico. When referring to Gus, a Chilean, he says, "Never trust a South American. Dirty, dirty people." He also used a racial slur for South American called "sud*ca."

Is this common among Mexicans? I heard that this is common in Spain. Was it just randomly written in the show?

I'm 40 but I just recently found out bout gender identity being different from sex maybe less than a year ago. I wasn't on social media until a year ago. That said, when I researched a bit more about gender identity, apparently its been around since the mid 1900s. Why am I only hearing bout this now? For me growing up sex and gender were use interchangeably. Is this just me?

Hi all. I wonder if others do birthdays like me. Since I was a kid, it is just me cutting a cake at home or going to a restaurant.

I have never had any friend join the party or anything like a complex birthday party.

Last year, I spent the entire day studying for the next day's test and ate takeout lol. I think it might be something similar this year.
