My mum died 2 months ago at the age of 66.

The postmortem results showed she choked to death on food. We know that that morning she had bought thick pancakes.

When she died, she was talking to my brother on the phone. She said she felt like she was going to faint. Then she went quiet.

When we found her she was slumped over holding the phone in her hand. She had cynosis on her lips and fingers.

I am tortured by this - did she suffer?

When do you think all these ads became so overwhelming. Go to watch a YouTube video, an ad plays. Video starts and gotta listen to paid ads. After that ends, video goes to another ad basically before the video actually begins. I just started up a game called smite and it even have ads. Snapchat shorts and YouTube shorts have to them. And it's always the same damn ads. If the services or products were actually good. You wouldn't need to put so many ads.

WTF is this open enrollment period restriction good for?

Why can't I just get health insurance when I need it? (or ideally, before I need it)

I lost coverage due to turning 26 and missed the 30 day window to enroll in a new plan. My fault for spacing on the date, but why does there need to be a time window anyway?

Knowing my luck, I'm gonna get cancer or run over by a car before November. Even if I survive, my life would be ended by debt. So I if there's an accident before then, it better kill me.

My wife has no boundaries when it comes to toilet time. She can and has shat with the door wide open.

I just go away or avert looking at her but what is worse is when I am on my time and she starts having a conversation through the door. Not urgent just whatever is up.

These are actual back and forth conversations not just questions or something that needed to be said at the moment.

I makes me feel weird but I am also unsure how to approach it without being weird.

Thoughts?

For example, if someone says "oh I read 6 books this year" but 3 of those books they listened to as an audio book. Would that count as having read the book? If so, why, and if not, why not?

I know it's not unique to this site but it seems so common here. Not only do they have shitty personalities, they are proud of it.

Hi all,

I signed a lease with my property management company in April 2023, and when I did, pets were allowed. That company sold to another company, pets were still allowed and no changes to lease agreements were made, that company sold to ANOTHER company, and my new landlords are saying we are not allowed to keep pets. Would it be legal for them to make us get rid of our pets? There still hasn’t been any changes to my lease agreement.

My mom and I got into an argument yesterday and she said she wishes I would’ve died as a bby. I cried all night and I’ve been crying all day. She was mad that I was being mouthy and disrespectful towards her and I told her that I wasn’t going to respect someone that wishes I was dead. She yelled at me and said”Well are you a bby now? Exactly. I wish you would’ve died as a bby not now. I just want you to zip your mouth shut.” I can’t tell if I’m in the wrong here. On one hand I was being disrespectful but only bc she made me feel rlly hurt and worthless.

I had a friend at work who happened to be gorgeous. We’d engage in light flirty banter on a regular basis and people took notice. Suddenly women who had never spoken to me started coming over and chatting me up. Is that odd or normal?

I’m from a tropical climate, so it’s summer all year round and there’s raves all year round which is fine because it’s not freezing outside anyway. But I’ll be travelling to North America this winter and would definitely like to check out their techno scene or music festivals but I’m not sure what I should pack to wear when I’m at these events. I always see videos of people in parties and that dressed minimally so where do their coats go?? Or do they just dress like it’s summer whenever they have a night out? Or do people not go to clubs or during winter?

We can sadly list a lot of people in Hollywood celebrities that have had mental break downs. With all the talk of nepotism babies recently I was thinking… I can’t think of a single Hollywood nepotism baby that has. Am I missing someone?

Personally I'd rather hear more of the music than just the sound. Maybe I'm weird. 🤷🏼

Does this sound normal? It feels very intrusive. My sister is in her second year of nursing school and her current professor said they all need to attend an AA meeting to see people at their most vulnerable. They say this helps them in the hospital because they’re more than just an addict. As someone who has struggled with drinking, I was horrified. Has anyone in nursing (USA) been required to do this? (She’s working towards her RN)

So my friend is not religiously or ethnically Jewish but I pointed out "Oh you have a Jewish first name and your cat's name is Bagel" and he said "My name isn't Jewish it's Hebrew". I said "Hebrew is Jewish." He said, "No, it's not." Now I'm even questioning myself. I know a lot of people have confusion about the fact that there is being religiously Jewish and being ethnically Jewish but he's aware of that. He still is insisting Hebrew is different than Jewish and I'm questioning myself now. Help?

I've seen that countless times in series and movies but also in real life videos. Is it really something common? It doesn't look fair for the person receiving the proposal - how are you meant to say 'no way, dumbass' or something along these lines when there's a crowd around you, all smiling and waiting for you to answer? In my eyes, it almost looks like a trap. Saying no would be so embarassing to the one proposing. Also, it looks like a very private moment. I can't understand why one would want it to happen in public. Like, would you say 'I love you' to your SO for the first time with a crowd gathered around you? Would you proclaim your divorce the same way? I don't get the purpose.

Like on a subway or bus or walking on the street? I've seen about 30 black people do it over the past few years, usually men, and never any other ethnicity. Thank you.

Original Title: Why USA buys oil from Saudi Arabia and makes other commercial trades with them but has an embargo over Venezuela with the argument it's a dictatorship if Venezuela is much more democratic/less dictatorial than Saudi Arabia by most democratic standards?

I'm making a cosplay helmet, and I accidentally bonded felt to my skin, and it hurts when I try to pull it off.
