So it sounds like Lemmy.world might be headed in the same direction as Meta in regards to moderation. https://lemmy.world/post/24135976 Although this post is not as explicit about allowing mal/disinformation about LGBTQ+ people as Meta's, it seems to have the same effect of disallowing moderation of hate speech implicitly.

So, anyone know any Lemmy servers that are explicitly LGBTQ+ friendly or better, have explicit protections in place against hate speech against us as well as other minorities? I'm looking to move my profile.

The governor took action using his executive powers after efforts to enact a law banning the practice repeatedly failed in the state’s Republican-dominated legislature. Beshear signed the executive order during a statehouse ceremony attended by activists for LGBTQ+ rights.

“Let’s be clear: conversion therapy has no basis in medicine or science, and it has been shown to increase rates of suicide and depression,” Beshear said in a statement. “This is about doing what is right and protecting our children. Hate is not who we are as Kentuckians.”

“The Bible says, ‘Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,’” he said. “Well, when you have leaders that are not allowing the nation to be blessed of God, they’re not doing godly things, you need to replace them, get rid of them, get them out of office, put people back in there that will. You’ve got schools where they’re fighting over allowing homosexual, LGBTQ material to be utilized to groom children. … There needs to be people that will take up and sue anybody that is allowing that sort of thing to go on in our school districts and in our libraries.”

When Sphen, one half of the gay penguin couple whose love captivated the world, died earlier this month in Sydney his partner Magic began to sing.

Gentoo penguins Sphen and Magic became symbols for same-sex love in 2018 after aquarium staff noticed the two males building a nest together and gave them an egg to incubate.

Staff took Magic to see Sphen's body so he could understand that he would not be coming home. When he reached Sphen, Magic immediately started singing, followed shortly afterwards by the other 45 penguins in the colony.

"Sphen and Magic's love story captivated the world and it's been an honour to welcome local and international fans," said Rachel Dilly, general manager at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium.

"The team's focus is now on Magic, who will soon prepare for his first breeding season without Sphen."
