After 11 years on reddit, and seeing it completely lose its identity it was founded on, I am stoked to be a part of this and learn as I go about this improved alternative. I believe this is going to change social media, as the giants collapse on themselves.

Us Apes have been migrating for the past 84 years and I glad to continue the tradition, although my smooth brain took waaaay too long to figure out how to create a post.

Hey all! I nuked my reddit account (different username) a few weeks back and haven't bothered to create a new one. Have been strapped to the rocket since jan'21, been through the migrations, etc. I have little to no idea what this Lemmy thing is yet but I see some familiar faces here so I look forward to discuss and learn with/from you! I know very little so I hope to contribute with good vibes. (I help god dammit!)

I'm mostly a lurker. Started checking out Lemmy after the Reddit 3rd party API fiasco and r/superstonk become worse and worse. Glad to have the freedom to communicate and share information again!

I've been a lifelong gamer, actually worked for GameStop way back when (I was there for CoD:MW2 and Halo Reach midnight releases)!

I've learned so much from this entire saga, but have always been a lurker. Never having enough karma to post until I found the DRSGME subs. As soon as I began taking part, they both got nuked one right after the other.

Always been more of a lurker, but hope to see Lemmy usage grow. I only have 7 more days left of Reddit in me.

I'm looking forward to learning about what this new platform is all about and how the distributed system works. Honestly, that privacy statement really got me pretty excited!
