llove very personal and emotional songs that you know that they were pouring their heart out in the studio like on the verge of crying I want to listen to your guys recommend songs.

I'm down with most Genres of music but it would help me if you put the Genre with the Song and Artist

I really like these kinda slowcore songs, with a bit of a fuzzy edge, and little instruments like tambourine and glockenspiel. Please don't recommend a whole band like "beach house" but rather specific tracks. Thanks!

I'm looking for another show or movie that has the same spooky yet cozy feeling that "Over the Garden Wall" does. I'm wanting to watch something with that same vibe, but although I do love that show I want to watch something new. Any ideas?

Using a throwaway - I'm looking to add some bangers to my halloween playlist. Its mostly edm, but I do have a few other genres as well. Good remixes or covers of classic Halloween songs are welcome! This is what I have so far:

It's my favorite movie. I wanna watch more movies like it where you got this compelling main character either trying to get somewhere, or get away from somewhere, and we're hit with these really great, memorable plot twists throughout the movie. I also thrive on really great, dark, immersive atmosphere.

I also like dark future movies as well where humanity is kinda fucked.

If you need more to go on than this, please let me know.

Hey! I'm a big fan of Jamiroquai and have decided to branch out further into the funk/jazz/acid jazz genres. Listened to Stevie Wonder's Innervisions, which I'm loving. Looking for similar recs + anything else that fits the vibe. Thanks! :D

This has been one of my favorite songs for over a decade, and I need some songs similar to it. Usually, when I try to find similar songs, I just get recommended other Smashing Pumpkins or grunge band songs, which are great, but they don't have that unique vibe that Mayonaise has. Please tell me somebody has a song with similar feels to Mayonaise :) Thanks!

I really love it when woman artists let their emotions out on a song that has a pretty deep meaning to it.

I love the screaming and emotions these songs execute.

And I don’t wanna hear All I Wanted by Paramore lol sorry guys

I’m looking for something subtle and gentle, more like Shri Camel or Plantasia. Delicate synth sounds are preferred this time. It could be spacey too, that would be fun to listen to. Thanks!

Her flow and delivery hits for some reason, especially in 212. Anybody know any songs with a similar style?

Note: the lyric content isn’t important, just the rhythm and cadence

What's a Song that makes you feel as if you've been stabbed in the heart?

The only time I can truly access my real emotions is when I'm listening to music. I have a physical, almost visceral response to music. I have been listening to the same music for a while...I need a change!

Intense love songs, haunting melodies, ecstasy and anguish. Maybe songs about what it feels like to be in a volatile relationship but still hopelessly addicted to that person. It doesnt have to be a love song, per say.

It can be music that makes you think and feel and laugh and cry and ruminate all at the same time!

I'm open to listening to any genre. I'd love some suggestions!

This is a good example of the kind of thing I'm looking for. I'm already familiar with the other works of Psychic TV, Throbbing Gristle, and Coil, but I can't ever find anything that comes close to the example above.

I've recently found myself totally hooked on stories where the main character wakes up with no memory of who they are, where they are, or how they got there. It's like diving headfirst into a mystery, and I can't get enough of it.

Here's a list of some of the stuff I've already read/watched:

  • Memento
  • The Maze Runner
  • Black Mirror's White Bear
  • The X-Files' John Doe
  • Cube
  • The Hollow
  • The Twilight Zone's Five Characters in Search of an Exit

I would really like to find some books with these type of stories, so if you have any novel recommendations in this vein, I'd be super grateful. But honestly, any format works for me—movies, video games, TV series—you name it!

Yeah, most guitar solos fit this criteria, though most are well known (Free Bird, Hotel Cali, Comfortably Numb...). But some songs manage to do it without the epic guitar solo. I think the most famous recent example is probably Driver's License by Olivia Rodrigo -- it teases away the "real chorus" (as some call it) by continuously building up until the ultimate powerful dreamy melody. Another song I know is Ulaanbaatar at Night by Tan Wei wei, who similarly has a quiet chorus and a strongly sung bridge near the end. Floating Life by Yu Peng Cheng arguably also does this, each chorus gets stronger and stronger and I feel the bridge is really strong despite being pure instrumental. Anything else like this, that holds back until the "real high" of the song?

PS I just posted a screenshot of the playlist I have so far on my profile.

Something about the song has always been very comforting to me. The absurdism/feeling of being lost.
