I’ve been thinking about placing around 5 caches a month and wanted to know how the community feels about that. Most of the ones I plan to hide are 3D printed, good quality, and usually fun or creative hides.

Would hiding that many be seen as a good thing, or could it come off as too much even if they’re well made?

Hey all. Just got into this amazing hobby with my kids. We had a blast, so thanks for everyone contributing to the community with chaches and such.

My question is: in the geocaching app when navigating to a cache it shows you (arrow) and cache (box). Will the cache be right where that box is on the map in the app and you just have to look for is? Our first find was about 8m away from the box showing on the map and just wondering if the app shows the general area and you have to hunt or if the cache should be immediately within that box icon when your right on top of it. I saw in the wiki, the difficulty levels and wondering if that difficulty level desigantes how far away you might have to venture to find the cache. Thanks in advanced. Happy hunting.

I found a cache today that was about 60 feet off in the coordinates and put you more or less in someones someone's back yard. Many posts noted that the coordinates were incorrect, stay on the pathn look low, and you'll find it. The cache description had a enough of a hint that piecing everything together to find the cache wasn't too hard. I got the correct coordinates with my GPS. Should I post the correct coordinates in my log or that considered wrong? I feel like someone would have already posted them off it wasn't frowned upon.

I purchased a magnetic travel bug decal for my car. It’s been there a couple of months, with zero finds. I have never seen one in real life. How many times have you all found and logged something like this?

So my in laws found a box with a geocaching logbook and small figures in it. They took it, because it layed open on the pathside in the forest and because they are my grandparents in law they thought maybe someone from us wanted these figures. Then I told them that it's geocaching and we should put it back. Please mind I never played geocaching, but I think it's pretty cool and did download the app at some point. They didn't care... They want to keep the figures, but I did save the logbook. I want to know what is the best thing to do now? Can I do something to safe this?

I recently read a post from a parent stating that their daughter and a friend (early teens) were out searching when they received a message from someone I forget exactly what it said, but it was basically like I'm watching you be careful. They even mentioned what clothes the girl was wearing.

I am very new to geocaching. How do people know who or when someone is searching. Someone stated not to log it while you're there. That makes sense, but wouldn't they have to be at their cache all of the time waiting?

It has occurred to me that some caches are at the edge of properties, so they'd notice if someone was searching, but how do they know who and how do they message them?

Sorry for the ignorance but I LOVE this new found hobby!! So know that your time helping me is not falling on deaf ears (blind eyes?)!!
