I was just sitting at home when i checked the geocache app and I saw a new multi in my town and got super excited because we only had one here. I looked at it and it was just published today and hadn't been found yet. I ran to get my shoes on and ran to my car. got to the park and got nervous because it was a ten stage cache. Luckily i did it fairly quick and I found the final! I've found the FTF for a virtual but was super excited to be able to be the first to find a physical cache!! i had to share because of how happy i am about it!!!

You really have to wonder about some geocachers. I just came across this today:

I found every single one in the guardrail portion of the challenge cache series except Rhode Island #13, which was archived. I'm still going to log a find on that one though because I did look for it and would have found it if it wasn't removed by the fire department. Also, other cachers are logging their find

I thought that there was something in the rules about

Found it

You can log caches online as "Found" after you visited the coordinates and signed the logbook.

I've seen others in the past like (translated from German) "Logging this as a find, because how can I find what isn't there?"

There was another guy on one of my caches, which requires a tree climb, that logged "I'm 70 years old, too old for climbing trees. I'm claiming this as a find"

Not bloody likely, that.

I like the idea of this and I’ve found a few so far. My problem is that I really not the outdoorsy type, so I’m only going to be able to find some very simple ones.

Also, I need to start bringing gloves with me. I had one earlier that I think I was in the right place from hints in the notes, but I was not reaching into a very buggy place.

Still having fun hunting, even if my success rate is not great.

I know this happens all the time and I'm not special, but it makes me mad and I want to vent.

I hid an April Fool's 2025 cache, and here it is not 2 months later and someone has already ripped it off.

It had only been found a handful of times, but those who found it seemed to like it.

I had chosen what I thought was a nice, out of the way location, and I expected it to last a while.

I've disabled it for now, while I decide what to do, but chances are I'll end up archiving it, rather than make a duplicate of that cache container. Darn it!

Hi everyone,

I have an idea to float to the hive mind for feedback

One of my favourite things about geocaching is finding trackables. One of my least favourite things about geocaching is not finding trackables that should be there!

For my own missing TBs, I 3D print proxy travel bug tags and attach to new hosts and set back into the world as a way to keep them alive. So far out of approx 20 replacements, only one has reappeared (ironically the replacement went missing around the same time anyway so didn’t really matter)

I know others have done something similar but I was thinking of setting up a TB hospital cache. TB owners could contact me with their missing code, I print a proxy and attach a new host then drop the new TB physically into my hospital cache to release back into the wild….

This would be only for the owner of the TB to do

Thoughts? :)
