I’m new to bullet-hell and rouge-likes in general. I was under the impression this game was rather simple until I accidentally put out a certain fire.

This lead me down a rabbit hole of secrets that sort of ruined some of the mystery; the discovery, but not entirely. So I’m here looking for some tips that don’t spoil too much.

My biggest question is this: what is synergy as this game understands it? I started reading some comments about it but stopped myself because I sort of want to figure it out myself but I’m stumped.

I see people with health bars exceeding screen width with thousands of shells to spend. I just can’t figure out how that’s all happening.

I don't even know what happened, but two days ago I was still struggling to even enter the forge, and yesterday I just randomly got infinitely better, and I killed the past for all four main characters in just 6 different runs. Today, I start running for Lich and, while he was jammed on all three phases because I messed around with curse too much, I manage to kill him second try. Also, this run was pure skill and had nothing to do with the fact that I had Clone, maxed Ser Junkan, and the Betrayer's Lies synergy.

I've just started the game, I've played a few runs and reached 3rd floor in my best run. Are there some tips or some secrets I should know that would not spoil my gameplay or ruin my experience? I mean tricks or secret rooms or stuff... For example, there is an altar room where if you interact with it it says "do nothing". Edit: Maybe it helps if I add that I saved the robot with the princess and a cool vampire girl.
