Hello All! I am a Reddit refugee wanting to moderate and start a dedicated Cincinnati Reds community. Please join me in what I promise to be an experience driven by you with the content you want to see. More to come on that later.

First, I have no moderating experience so I am looking for someone who does who can teach me.

Thanks!

Cincinnati is 50-47 heading into the All-Star break. Last year they were 47-50. In 2023 they were 50-41 and in first place.

Terry Francona got his 2000th win with this one, becoming one of 13 to do so. Congrats to him and let's take this bit of momentum and capitalize after the All Star break.

Kudos to Elly.

What a finish! Great pitching, figured we should've had a run scored in the 8th when Benson led off with a double but no cigar.

The grit though to come into the 9th, the super close throw to the plate where Elly was safe. Then a couple clutch hits capped off by Benson with a basehit to right to score the winning run.

Let's go Reds!

CINCINNATI – As a kid growing up in Tennessee, Chase Burns liked the Yankees and, typical of many a young person, occasionally envisioned himself wearing the pinstripes. But on Tuesday night at Great American Ball Park, none of that fandom mattered as the 22-year-old Burns was in a Reds uniform making his Major League debut against the Yankees.

Over five innings, Burns allowed three runs and six hits with no walks and eight strikeouts while throwing 81 pitches (53 strikes). He left trailing, 3-0, before the Reds battled back to take a 5-4 walk-off victory in 11 innings.

Great game. Burns looked amazing, offense woke up late, then they never quit en route to a walk off in the 11th.

Reds are 4.5 back of the division leading Cubs.

May as well get it out of the way and in big fashion.

It definitely got dicey in the 9th but solid defense by Elly and co. on the double play and then Benson nabbing that one at the warning track to seal it. Heck of an outing by Abbott.

Notes

  • Reds win the Ohio Cup for the first time since 2014 (and that is with 4 straight wins out of a possible 6 games)
  • We're back over the 500 mark and stand at 34-33 (we'll hope that lasts a bit longer this time?)

He powered us to two wins over the Dbacks. Looking for the sweep today (Sunday.)

Santillan did his best to give it up late but the Redlegs held on.
