May as well get it out of the way and in big fashion.

It definitely got dicey in the 9th but solid defense by Elly and co. on the double play and then Benson nabbing that one at the warning track to seal it. Heck of an outing by Abbott.

Notes

• Reds win the Ohio Cup for the first time since 2014 (and that is with 4 straight wins out of a possible 6 games)
• We're back over the 500 mark and stand at 34-33 (we'll hope that lasts a bit longer this time?)

He powered us to two wins over the Dbacks. Looking for the sweep today (Sunday.)

All or nothing with this offense.

Santillan did his best to give it up late but the Redlegs held on.

This is the 5th game in a row the Reds have scored 6 or more runs. Also helps that it's kind of spread around. Austin Hays went hitless (I believe) but others picked up the slack on his off day.

Team is back to .500 at 28-28 and sitting at 3rd in the standings. 6.5 games back of the division leading Cubs.

Great outing by Martinez and luckily got out of a jam there in the 9th.

Reds bats (knock on wood) have woken up as it's so many games in a row with 6 or more runs (just a shame we didn't take more from the Cubs.)

Good late surge to take pressure off getting the save (even though that took 5 pitches.)

Good turnaround. Hopefully they can keep it up.

I predict they get their shit together to get a win today, but that's about it.

This team's inability to get runs is killing it. I can't fault pitching when they give up ONE RUN through 9 innings. This is on the team for not being able to just get guys to cross home plate.

If they're not scoring double digits it's likely they're not scoring at all.

Good pitching does nothing if you can't get any runs on the board.

Reds certainly living up to that prediction that "the schedule gets harder so maybe they won't do as well in this stretch."
