Well yet another college football season is coming to a close tonight, so I figure it's time for me to finally announce winners for our prediction contest! Below you'll find a table with our top 5 results.

As you can see, nobody even scored half the available points. Though there were some really good smart guesses. Essentially everyone got Oregon, but Miami and BYU did a lot of us dirty. Congrats to @[email protected] for winning! I've sent messages to the the winners for them to claim their corresponding gift cards. Thanks to everyone who played or just hung out with us this year. I love our little corner of the internet here, we've got manageable numbers of gator and tide fans. In all seriousness though, I do think that this community punches well above its weight in terms of quality content to active user ratio, and I hope that we continue to slowly build up our presence here. To that end, I'd also like to present this post as an open forum on our mod team (specifically me). This is my first time modding for a community, and even though we're small I want to provide a good experience to our users. Hopefully one day we're big enough to warrant actual moderation and I can take a step back, but until then I'm all ears if anyone has suggestions on what we can do for our community. Good luck this afternoon to anyone playing, and I'll see y'all for whatever off season drama comes our way.

It's time to set up the coaching carousel! P4 head coaching jobs will probably be very sparse this year, as athletic departments will be on the hook to pay players and are apparently no longer willing to pay the monstrous buyouts that many of their coaches have. But there may still be plenty of action in the Group of 5 (and among coordinators). Here's the current list of FBS HC moves (I'll update it as it spins along):

  • App State: ~~Shawn Clark~~ replaced by Dowell Loggains (South Carolina OC)
  • Ball State: ~~Mike Neu~~ replaced by Mike Uremovich (Butler HC)
  • Central Michigan: ~~Jim McElwain~~ (retired) replaced by Matt Drinkall (Army OC, Kansas Wesleyan HC)
  • Charlotte: ~~Biff Poggi~~ replaced by Tim Albin (Ohio HC)
  • East Carolina: ~~Mike Houston~~ replaced by Blake Harrell (ECU DC & interim HC)
  • FAU: ~~Tom Herman~~ replaced by Zach Kittley (Texas Tech OC)
  • FIU: ~~Mike MacIntyre~~ replaced by Willie Simmons (Duke RBs, FAMU HC, PVAMU HC)
  • Fresno State: ~~Jeff Tedford~~ (resigned in off-season) replaced by Matt Entz (USC LBs, North Dakota State HC)
  • Jacksonville State: ~~Rich Rodriguez~~ replaced by OPEN
  • Kennesaw State: ~~Brian Bohannon~~ replaced by Jerry Mack (Jaguars RBs, Tennessee RBs, NC Central HC)
  • Marshall: ~~Charles Huff~~ replaced by Tony Gibson (NC State DC, West Virginia DC)
  • New Mexico: ~~Bronco Mendenhall~~ replaced by Jason Eck (Idaho HC)
  • North Carolina: ~~Mack Brown~~ replaced by Bill Belichick (Patriots HC)
  • Ohio: ~~Tim Albin~~ replaced by Brian Smith (Ohio OC)
  • Purdue: ~~Ryan Walters~~ replaced by Barry Odom (UNLV HC, Missouri HC)
  • Rice: ~~Mike Bloomgren~~ replaced by Scott Abell (Davidson HC)
  • Sam Houston: ~~K.C. Keeler~~ replaced by Phil Longo (Wisconsin OC)
  • Southern Miss: ~~Will Hall~~ replaced by Charles Huff (Marshall HC, Alabama AHC)
  • Temple: ~~Stan Drayton~~ replaced by K.C. Keeler (Sam Houston HC, Delaware HC)
  • Tulsa: ~~Kevin Wilson~~ replaced by Tre Lamb (East Tennessee State HC, Gardner-Webb HC)
  • UCF: ~~Gus Malzahn~~ replaced by Scott Frost (Nebraska HC, UCF HC)
  • UMass: ~~Don Brown~~ replaced by Joe Harasymiak (Rutgers DC)
  • UNLV: ~~Barry Odom~~ replaced by Dan Mullen (Florida HC, Mississippi State HC)
  • Utah State: ~~Blake Anderson~~ replaced by Bronco Mendenhall (New Mexico HC, UVA HC, BYU HC)
  • Wake Forest: ~~Dave Clawson~~ replaced by Jake Dickert (Washington State HC)
  • Washington State: ~~Jake Dickert~~ replaced by OPEN
  • West Virginia: ~~Neal Brown~~ replaced by Rich Rodriguez (Jacksonville State HC, Arizona HC, Michigan HC, WVU HC)

Other notes: A lot of "hot seats" (e.g. Arkansas, Baylor, Florida, ~~West Virginia~~) probably cooled off by winning enough games. ~~Mack Brown at UNC claims he's not retiring.~~ Deion Sanders at CU claims he does not intend to go to the NFL.

Want to pawn off your disappointing coach/assistants on an unsuspecting team? Try to sell me on them in the comments!

The anti-reflective coatings has emerged as a crucial segment within the broader coatings and materials industry, driven by the growing demand for improved visual clarity, energy efficiency, and performance in a range of applications. These coatings are designed to reduce reflections and glare from surfaces, thereby enhancing visibility and light transmission. They are widely used across various industries, including consumer electronics, automotive, eyewear, solar panels, and telecommunications, owing to their ability to improve the efficiency and user experience of optical systems.

In consumer electronics, anti-reflective coatings have become essential for improving screen readability and visual comfort. Devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and televisions often incorporate these coatings to minimize glare under bright lighting or outdoor conditions. As technological advancements continue to push the boundaries of display quality, manufacturers are increasingly integrating high-performance anti-reflective coatings to deliver sharper and more vibrant visuals. Moreover, the rising consumer preference for high-definition and high-brightness screens further fuels the demand for advanced coatings that can reduce unwanted reflections without compromising image quality.

The automotive sector also represents a significant area of application for anti-reflective coatings. These coatings are utilized on display panels, dashboard instruments, mirrors, and windshields to enhance driver visibility and safety. With the growing incorporation of digital displays and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) in vehicles, the need for clear and glare-free optical surfaces has become more pronounced. Automotive manufacturers are therefore investing in innovative coating solutions to meet these requirements and improve the overall driving experience.

Some really juicy offseason drama for the Vols this year. Here are the facts:

  • Nico was in Spring Camp and was seemingly both invested and invested in (Lots of reps, go pro mounting on helmet)
  • Story breaks on Thursday that Nico is in contract negotiations. (Word on the street is he wanted $4mil vs $2mil this year, possibly parent driven)
  • Nico misses practice Friday (Word is no call no show)
  • Heupel announces today that the Vols are moving on (specifically coverage seems to word it this way, rather than Nico moving on)
  • Orange and White game is also today, but no broadcast of any kind

Consensus opinions from Vol Nation seem to be:

  • Fuck NIL, we need contracts
  • Shitty of Nico to wait until the end of spring to pull this
  • Correct move from Heupel, culture over individuals
  • New QB competition drama just dropped

B1G gets the theme music AND they get rid of Danielson? Things can be so unfair

Was I wrong about Deion?

Oh my god, make it stop

Also sorry for paywall

Turns out B1G and SEC are wearing the pants here.

Yeah I like the idea of this, but for top heavy conferences like the B1G, where's the incentive for them to impose any penalties on the top tier of the conference? Mizzou is gonna wind up on the stake all the time so that alabama can continue to pay for play.

Not their best work, IMHO, but the Herbstreit tag they either pulled off the pile or had him record makes me think they agree.
