I'm asking because this has been a tip of my toungue issue for months. There is a particular comic from the same artist, where a guy is getting robbed and a cop comes to save them, but the cop shoots the guy getting robbed.

I tried asking all the regular comic book posters but no luck.

Then I saw the comic being used as a profile pic.

Does anyone recognize or know the comic artist?

Picture is my bookbag that I wore to the no kings day celebration in fort Walton Beach, Florida. There's little coverage of it so I thought it would worth blogging on the fediverse about it

Are they living too far away? Too poor to go there? Bots? Laziness? Are they not interested in military parades despite liking to denounce protesters?

What's the big reason?

I'm looking for a way to both keep track of the wines I try, and to find info on new wines. In particular, I'd like to be able to search by characteristics. And all without being tracked or nagged to pony up for the premium subscription. Thanks.

I think 3D geometry has a lot of quirks and has so many results that un_intuitively don't hold up. In the link I share a discussion with ChatGPT where I asked the following:

assume a plane defined by a point A=(x_0,y_0,z_0), and normal vector n=(a,b,c) which doesn't matter here, suppose a point P=(x,y,z) also sitting on the space R^3. Question is:
If H is a point on the plane such that (AH) is perpendicular to (PH), does it follow immediately that H is the projection of P on the plane ?

I suspected the answer is no before asking, but GPT gives the wrong answer "yes", then corrects it afterwards.

So Don't we need more education about the 3D space in highschools really? It shouldn't be that hard to recall such simple properties on the fly, even for the best knowledge retrieving tool at the moment.

I used to be in r/lonely and similar subs on reddit but I've been shadowbanned for no good reason.

Where can I find some people here to talk with me when things get rough?

Thanks :)

On Reddit, there is a bot called u/profanitycounter that users could summon to count the number and types of swear words someone had used in their recent comment history.

While it was mostly used for humor or lighthearted callouts, it also sparked discussion around online civility, user behavior, and moderation trends.

With Lemmy growing as a federated alternative to Reddit, I'm curious:

Should Lemmy (or a third-party dev) implement a similar profanity counter bot?

Would such a tool add meaningful engagement, moderation assistance, or humor to the platform?

Or would it be seen as invasive, performative, or redundant given Lemmy's decentralized nature and local moderation policies?

Some possible considerations:

Could such a bot be opt-in or confined to specific communities?

Would this be better as a per-instance moderation tool or a user-invoked script (like tagging a bot)?

How would it handle federation? Would it scan only local comments, or across instances?

Could it be useful as a moderation analytics tool, or does it risk shaming users?

Would love to hear from both devs and moderators—whether this kind of bot aligns with Lemmy’s goals, or if it's best left in Reddit’s history books.

I would love to attempt something like this, but I lack both the time and energy.

Intending to reach anyone here with some product or industrial design chops but anyone with an input is welcome. I spent the day looking at all of the components I want to fit into an audio amplifier. It is somewhere around the size of a typical router. My ideas thus far are ehh at best. I just abstracted the realization that this is an issue common to most electronics products, so who does it best or what ideas do you like most for shapes and design?

I have a Mitsubishi Electric "MSZ-GL06NA" and live in NYC.

Why does the heat pump never stop when set to the dehumidify mode?

The apartment just keeps getting colder and colder but never any drier(?).

When will it ever stop or Does it need servicing?

I'm going to run this as a poll by creating some responses you can upvote. If you wouldn't mind upvoting a an existing comment so we get get a really nice count. See the comments I'm Leaving to get an idea of how the poll works. Try to follow my comment structure, but add your own options if you really feel I'm missing something.

I really hope this works how I'm envisioning. I really want to get an idea of operating system and platform preference skew for Lemmy.

How to vote:

  1. Upvote the operating system you use
  2. Upvote how your download the app of choice

If you use a browser

  1. Find the "Browser" comment and upvote
  2. Upvote the browser you use

If you use multiple, feel free to upvote multiple

For anything that isn't a vote, please search for the "bump comment" and reply to that. I know this isn't exactly open ended, but I really wanted to pose this question to a community that didn't skew towards a specific topic. I hope that's ok with this community and the mods. I would love to discuss the results of this poll at some point. My goal is to collect those results in a way that informs that discussion so we're not all guessing how people use Lemmy.

Edit: because there is a troll downvoting comments randomly, you should look at just the upvotes, not the score, to get the correct poll results.

I just love words like spiv, nod, wasteman, barmy, slapper, bruv, lezza, shafted, nonce, junkie, bint, smackhead, nutter, slag, breve, chav, squiffy, slaphead, looney/loon, bender, and dosh.

Title. I honestly think he is genuinely more clever than the richer, more glory hogging power players, but that's just a guess.
