This community is for the discussion of youth liberation (sometimes called youth rights) movement. The movement is focused upon the dismantling of systems, ideologies and attitudes meant to oppress children and teenagers etc (collectively called the youth) and free them to make their own choices about their bodies, lives etc.

Attitudes, ideologies and arguments against ending the oppression of the youth are not welcome here and will be deleted and if continued you will be banned. Though it is okay to discuss specifics or where we might be getting it wrong, rejecting the idea wholesale is not okay.

This is an amazing video that really dives into why children are hated in society, why it's bad to be seen as child-like and what to do about it. It delves into racism, ableism etc too, so be warned. It is very in line with this community's and movement's values imo whilst also explaining why they are necessary.

"Age verification" laws are actually "upload your ID or get your face scanned to access every website, ending anonymity and associating your identity with everything you do online" laws and if more people understood that they would not be down for this authoritarian nonsense
