The two shows I've gone to the merch was horrid.

I've heard the pickings are better for the larger markets, like Chicago, or NYC, but smaller markets just get unsold leftovers from previous shows. That's purely unfounded rumor, though. I was told by a fellow attendee at the second Cincinnati show last year that the selection and inventory was better than their first visit because some fans expressed their displeasure. The merch at the first Lexington show was practically nonexistent, I can't speak for the second one, as I was unable to get off work.
