Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Sources on the fighting in Palestine against Israel. In general, CW for footage of battles, explosions, dead people, and so on:

UNRWA daily-ish reports on Israel's destruction and siege of Gaza and the West Bank.

English-language Palestinian Marxist-Leninist twitter account. Alt here.
English-language twitter account that collates news (and has automated posting when the person running it goes to sleep).
Arab-language twitter account with videos and images of fighting.
English-language (with some Arab retweets) Twitter account based in Lebanon.
English-language Palestinian Twitter account which reports on news from the Resistance Axis.

English-language PalestineResist telegram channel.
More telegram channels here for those interested.

Various sources that are covering the Ukraine conflict are also covering the one in Palestine, like Rybar.

The Country of the Week is still Palestine, though we will switch next week to a new country.

Here is the map of the Ukraine conflict, courtesy of Wikipedia.

The weekly (biweekly?) update is here.

Links and Stuff

The bulletins site is down.

Examples of Ukrainian Nazis and fascists

Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Add to the above list if you can.

Resources For Understanding The War

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.

Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Telegram Channels

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Pro-Russian

https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.

https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.

https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.

https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.

https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.

https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.

https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.

https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.

Pro-Ukraine

Almost every Western media outlet.

https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.

https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.

Last week's discussion post.

Meanwhile in Finland

(where the natohawks had to admit that the pipeline damage was actually from a dragging anchor, they even found the broken anchor from the site)

our responsible state media has moved on to "China probably dun it!" The ship apparently was from Hong Kong. This produced a headline stating how China is carrying on it's ongoing project of "conquering the world"????

Some serious expert dude cited in the article said how disturbances like this are a good reason for increasing Nato presence in the Baltic.

Can't wait for them to get this narrative bs done and just bring the nukes and nato bases here already, because that is what all this is really about.

Sources confirm that elite Navy Seals units, whose members have been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Qaeda, and have over 300 confirmed kills, have been deployed to the Middle East in response to rising tensions in the region.

🔴 Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine:

Britain displaced our people and insists on annihilating them.

The statements and positions of the British government are nothing but an extension of its original crime that caused the Nakba of our people and led to the displacement of millions of Palestinians, insisting on completing the annihilation of our people, displacing those who remain and erasing them from existence.

The statements and positions of the British government are filled with colonial resentment and hatred towards our people, supporting, encouraging, and even pressuring for the annihilation of the Palestinians, through its persistence and insistence on opposing any positions calling for stopping the aggression and genocide.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine reminds the British government that our people and the Arab nation have not forgotten Britain's primary role in our displacement in 1948, granting our land to the zionist invaders, and manufacturing our historical tragedy. The current British stance should be held accountable, not just condemned and denounced. The Front calls on the masses of the Arab nation, freedom fighters of the world, and supporters of the Palestinian people to respond appropriately to such a brutal and aggressive stance.

The Front urges the Arab masses, forces supporting Palestinian rights, and all anti-colonial powers, to escalate their resistance against Britain, its interests, its embassies, and its military bases. This feeble specter cannot imagine that its way of regaining its reputation as an open colonial empire comes at the expense of the rights and blood of our people.

Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine

October 25, 2023.

This comes off as a call to violence against Britain.

An American military transport aircraft C-17 Globemaster with the call sign of a medical evacuation board is en route from Baghdad to the Ramstein base, where the Landstuhl military hospital is located.

It appears that after yesterday's attacks on US bases in the Middle East, wounded or killed US troops are being transferred.

Emmanuel Macron will call for the “resumption of a genuine peace process” for the creation of a Palestinian state when he visits Israel on Tuesday his office told the French news agency AFP.

The French President will also call for “halting the colonisation” of the West Bank with Israeli settlements, AFP reported his office said on Monday ahead of the visit which was announced on Sunday.

During his trip, which will include a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Macron will “show solidarity to Israel” and “make commitments against terrorist groups very clear”, his office also said.

Potentially the prophecy Netanyahu is referencing?

If Palestine is the "nation or kingdom that will not serve thee", Netanyahu's statement saying they will fulfill the prophecy of Isaiah is a statement of intent to genocide.

Hamas’s Qassam says it has ‘foiled ground incursion’ in northern Gaza (Al-Jazeera)

Hamas’s armed wing, the Qassam Brigades, say they have “foiled an Israeli ground incursion into Beit Hanoun and the east of Bureij,” adding that “violent clashes” are now taking place.

A senior Hamas official, Osama Hamdan, has said that Israel was attempting “to create an image of victory”.

“Cutting off communications from the Gaza Strip is an attempt to cover up the crimes of the [Israeli] occupation without any oversight or accountability,” Hamdan added

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei accused the United States of “directing” Israel’s attack on Gaza.

“America is a definite accomplice of criminals,” said Khamenei during a speech in Tehran. “The United States is in some way directing the crime that is being committed in Gaza.”

Khamenei added the hands of Americans are “tainted with the blood of the oppressed, children, patients, women and others”.

Mr. Khamenei, America yearns for freedom

American advisers recommended that the Israeli military, during a ground operation in the Gaza Strip, limit itself to special forces raid operations with massive air support instead of a full-fledged invasion, which would lead to heavy losses and a threat to hostages.

Rybar playing down analysis suggesting that Russia intends to provide intelligence and recon to the resistance, instead suggesting that it's just for fighting IS militants.

🇮🇱🇮🇷 🇷🇺 🇸🇾 The French publication Intelligence Online reports, based on intelligence sources, that the Russian authorities will soon transfer nine Forpost-M UAVs to the Khmeimim airbase in Syria. This has raised concerns among Israeli intelligence services, who fear that these reconnaissance drones could be used to assist Hezbollah and Iran against Israel.

📌 The transfer of drones to Syria aligns with the current situation, which goes beyond the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. There are other factors to consider: the increased activity of Islamic State militants and the near expulsion of Wagner PMC detachments from Syria. This requires the establishment of departmental units to replace them.

Given the strongholds supervised by Wagner in Syria, it is necessary to maintain air control over them, especially in light of the intensification of IS militants (source (https://t.me/rybar/53406)).

However, Hezbollah, Iran, and proxy formations do not necessarily require Russian drones. The Iranians already possess the knowledge and technology to target artillery and missiles at their desired objectives.
