I've been using Wise for a long time and loving it. Revolut seems to be available now in NZ as well, on the Cheapies post I see that people have signed up.

It's nice to have an alternative to Wise. I sometimes buy stuff online in The Netherlands, and Revolut supports Ideal, the most popular payment method there.

Some of the comments there are saying they've been on an NZ waitlist for a few years. Do you know if they're actually planning to launch here soon?

I've been using Wise for ages too and keep recommending it to people. But it looks like Revolut does more and had a slightly better (0.4%) better rate when I just looked at it then. Revolut would be even better with smaller amounts, because I think Wise has a minimum fee. Not sure if that applies to their credit card though.

If you're thinking of joining Wise...I don't want to post it here but I have a referral link that waives the fee on your first transaction (and I get stuff too). Anyone is welcome to DM me for it.

I've just received an email that I'm able to join as well! Been on the waitlist for a year or so.

Oh, cool. I'm just signing up now. FYI, in their privacy policy it says (emphasis mine):

We use your personal information to do the following:

  • provide you with information about our goods or services, and our partners’ promotions or offers, which we think you might be interested in. To help us do this, we may use information about you to help us better understand your interests. You can opt out of this by using the help service through the Revolut app or by emailing us at [email protected];
  • if you agree, allow our partners and other organisations to provide you with information about their goods or services;

It doesn't sound like they'll give your info to others without ticking the "opt in to receive marketing communications" box, but they might still send you junk if you don't opt out. Just a heads up.
