Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

Israel trying to pass the hospital bombing off as Palestine doing it is utterly disgusting and guarantees Netanyahu a spot in the deepest pit of Hell for all eternity, obviously, but do not forget that

a) the only reason why Westerners will believe it is because they want to believe it - they are not being brainwashed and this is not some masterful propaganda being weaved around us to turn kind-hearted people into monsters,

b) no Westerner opinions matter at all. In most Western countries there is no real anti-Israel option to vote for even if they did realize that Israel was a giant factory for crimes against humanity, and Westerners protesting against things in general almost never achieves anything (tens of millions protested for BLM in 2020 and not only did the situation not change, it got worse), and

c) the people whose opinions do matter (both the people in the region, and the leaders who aren't already Zionist compradors) already know that Israel is full of shit and that they just murdered nearly a thousand civilians in a single bomb attack.

It is despair-inducing to think that the genocidal Zionist entity is so brazenly, so smugly getting away with bullshitting this away into a cloud of confusion, as they release their metaphorical squid ink just like they did with the stupid babies story, but the propaganda and the media narrative that they are creating isn't what matters. It cannot address the fundamental contradictions ripping the country, the region, and the world apart any more than masterfully-applied makeup can fix a stab wound. It can merely obfuscate.

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Sources on the fighting in Palestine against Israel. In general, CW for footage of battles, explosions, dead people, and so on:

UNRWA daily-ish reports on Israel's destruction and siege of Gaza and the West Bank.

Various sources that are covering the Ukraine conflict are also covering the one in Palestine, like Rybar.

The Country of the Week is still Palestine! Feel free to chime in with books, essays, longform articles, even stories and anecdotes or rants.

Here is the map of the Ukraine conflict, courtesy of Wikipedia.

The weekly update isn't coming because I'm sick and too focussed on the collapse of the Zionist entity.

Resources For Understanding The War

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.

Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Telegram Channels

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Pro-Russian

https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.

https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.

https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.

https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.

https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.

https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.

https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.

https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.

Pro-Ukraine

Almost every Western media outlet.

https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.

Most believable Zionist propaganda:

While the leaders of Hamas are living luxurious lives enjoying good lives, they ask you to sacrifice yourselves and your children.
Hamas doesn't care for the Palestinians.

French President Macron is postponing a trip to Israel planned for Tuesday at Netanyahu's request.

This is probably a bad sign. If Netanyahu is postponing Macron I suspect it's because they're starting the ground op, or have something major that is happening.

The IOF abducted 78 Palestinians across the West Bank this morning.

This brings the number of arrests in the West Bank and Al-Quds since October 7th to over 1,000.

Further, the IOF has kidnapped an estimated 4,000 Gazan workers employed in the West Bank and occupied interior, keeping them in secret detention camps. #FreeThemAll

If biden-fall croaks during this war, volcel-kamala becomes president, and there's no speaker of the house next in line during one of the most crazy moments in modern history.

If they appoint cheeto-man to speaker, he becomes VP.

America would have a President that didn't even get a single delegate and a VP from an opposition party snuck in through the back door.

Don't tell me that's not what the porky-happy are talking about in the backrooms.

The hospital bombing, subsequent denials, and qualifications by the Israeli state really sharpens what has been true this entire time: Fascism is in control of the Israeli state. We've seen many Israeli's, even those with kidnapped or killed family members call for peace; but it is out of their hands, and has been for a long time. The real reason for this ongoing terror-bombing is not "justice for the murdered Israeli settlers" or even restoring security, Fascism doesn't care about the lives of it's own citizens; the real reason is that the Fascist state must put down it's rebellious colonial subjects. And that drive is suicidal. The damage the Hamas militants did to it's ego, it's belief in it's own self-justified superiority, must be avenged.

There is no diplomacy with that- only a reckoning. There will never be peace again until the Israeli state is dismantled, and they will not scale back this carnage even as the barbarity of it sees the light of day; even if Biden pulls back on aid (I doubt he would), they are unleashed.

if you are losing hope, just think for a moment about how many of the 1.8 billion muslims are en route for occupied Palestine right now. How many of them know how to fight with guerrilla and irregular warfare. How many volunteers are filling the ranks of any militant organization handing out weaponry or recruiting and promising to march to Al Qods.

Even though we will witness the terrible and tragic suffering of the Palestinian people in the short term, Israel will not just get away with this. Even if they expel and kill all Palestinians there will be consequences in the long run. Normalization is not on the menu for decades, and Turkey will not be standing with NATO on this.

If it sounds like a JDAM, causes fire damage like a JDAM, and is used against enemies of US vassals like a JDAM, it’s probably a run of the mill DIY Palestinian missile warhead that popped out when it got intercepted and oh so inconveniently landed right in the center of a hospital complex woopsie doopsie

Maybe it’s not intentional, not sure, but it seems like news about Palestine is starting to get a bit more buried in US news - now that Biden and the security state have stated unequivocally that Israel didn’t blow up a hospital. No need to discuss further, let’s move on.

GOP drama along with Sidney Powell bullshit seems to have overtaken it. And on CNN’s website, Palestine has barely more visibility than news about Joran van der Sloot; with news about Taylor Swift and Britney Spears gaining fast.

Trudeau not ready to accept U.S. finding that Palestinian militants' rocket was behind Gaza hospital blast (!!!)

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Thursday that Canadian officials are still reviewing evidence about the Gaza hospital blast that killed and maimed many Palestinian civilians and he's not prepared to say who's responsible.

That's a departure from what U.S. President Joe Biden and American national security services have said about the explosion.

"We are working closely with allies to determine exactly what happened," Trudeau told a press conference with Caribbean leaders in Ottawa when asked if he accepted the Israeli version of events that has since been endorsed by the U.S. government.

Yougov poll finds 8% of the UK public support Israel's ongoing war in Gaza being backed by the British government.

76% think there should be a ceasefire.

66% of likely voters agree that the U.S. should call for a ceasefire and de-escalation of violence in Gaza to prevent civilian deaths.

  • Gaza is in bad conditions due to neglect from Hamas

It is reported that one of the zionist soldiers who was killed at the border with Lebanon since the start of Al-Aqsa Flood was an American settler, 22 years of age, who traveled to “israel” from the United States specifically to fight in this war.

What the hell already got people so eager for a reason to kill that withen weeks they're there.

The western media is disgusting in how it refuses to call out obvious zionist lies about the hospital bombing.

Who bombed the hospital?

  • The people who had the means to do so, who has expressed genocidal intent against the people in the hospital and who was bombing the hospital a few days before this bombing, who were initially claiming the victims deserved it and who can only present obviously fake videos in their defense or
  • The people who have never before had weaponry to make an explosion this big?

Well, they both said the other guys did it so I guess we just can't know.

At this point in time I am completely and totally convinced that UNRWA are the best chance we have of preventing a genocide.

In order to kill or displace the civilians under UNRWA care, Israel will have to indiscriminately kill UN members of staff. It's still possible that they would, but the cost of doing that to both Israel and its supporters will be significant internationally.

The more civilians under UNRWA care, the better.

Debunking Israel’s lies about the bombing of Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza

Let’s be clear: Israel lies. The Israeli government — backed by the United States — murders Palestinians with genocidal impunity, while at the same time running a sophisticated disinformation apparatus, the sole purpose of which is to cover up its unspeakable atrocities. While the Israeli military rains bombs indiscriminately over Gaza, it simultaneously wages an information war, spewing falsehood after falsehood that defies all logic, all facts on the ground, and demands of us to disbelieve what we see with our very eyes and what we know to be true. This propaganda campaign would not be possible without the U.S. corporate media, which acts as Israel’s mouthpiece, amplifying its lies.

Israel on the defensive

Make no mistake: Israel has a long history of targeting Palestinian hospitals and medical workers — Al-Ahli was far from the first. But the death toll from these previous attacks never rose to such staggering proportions as the one on Oct. 17. Perhaps in an attempt to avert international condemnation, Israel asked us to accept its boldest lie yet: It was not responsible for the bombing of Al-Ahli. Israeli officials expected the public to believe this, despite hitting the same hospital with a rocket just three days before, damaging Al-Ahli’s Diagnostic Cancer Treatment Centre.

There is no doubt in Palestinians’ minds that Israel bombed the hospital, despite what government officials claim.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, head of the Anglican Church which owns Al-Ahli, stated that Israeli officials phoned the hospital ordering those in the area to evacuate on Sunday, Oct. 15 — just two days before it was bombed. The Anglican Bishop of Jerusalem, Hosam Naoum, also stated the hospital received at least three Israeli military orders to evacuate before the deadly blast on Oct. 17.

The world stands with Palestine

That the Al-Ahli massacre has the Israeli government scrambling to spin a counter-narrative attests to its fundamental weakness: the regime may have the backing of the U.S. government, but the people of the world stand with Palestine. Israel is losing the information war. When it launched its murderous aerial bombardment campaign on Gaza, Israel did not anticipate the full scale of pushback and international condemnation against its genocidal crimes. Over the last few weeks, millions of protestors — including huge numbers in the United States — have hit the streets all over the world in support of the Palestinian struggle and against Israeli colonization and land theft.

The tide is turning, and the days of the Israeli apartheid regime are numbered.

Can the PIJ hit me up with their 2000 lb high explosive rockets?

People are either missing the fact that Palestine literally doesn't have the capability for this kind of rocket or they're being willfully negligent. In fact, I don't think even the US or Russia could launch this rocket.

For comparison, HIMARS missiles have about 200 pounds of high explosive, ATACMS have about 500 pounds, and Iskander-Ms have about 1800 pounds. Cruise missiles like Storm Shadows and Kalibrs have about 1000 pounds dedicated to their warhead. If this was a missile strike, it would exceed the casualty rate of all Russian Iskander strikes (including those in dense urban areas). It would also exceed the casualty rate of all Palestinian rocket strikes... summed together.
