I went from drinking a fifth of liquor a night to alcohol free (one week now) with no withdrawal. Why can I do this but it's so hard for others? Why don't some people get withdrawals? (lemmit.online)

Basically just had a habit of heavy drinking for the past couple years and decided to quit largely for weight loss reasons. I was prepared for some sort of withdrawal but nothing came.

Edit to add

Never had any negative life consequences up to this point. No hangovers, no regrettable behavior, no health problems .
