My little niece just started going to school and asked me why it was 5 days a week with an emphasis on only have 2 DAYS OFF and I couldn't answer. I understand that now days nobody can afford to work less, but that's not really my question. How did 5 days a week ever become standard? I recently took a personal day on a Friday to help my mom get ready for a funeral. I did house work and got a lot of cleaning done and by Sunday everything was done and it had been a really long time since I felt that way. I don't have any kids, but grew up in a time where only my dad had to work and my mom could care for the kids. My heart goes out to ppl that have kids because it's not like that anymore. It's extremely hard to pursue happiness with 2 days off of work a week. Who's idea was this in the first place? I don't think life should be like this for anyone. It's not really living at all.
