I live in an apartment in San Francisco and my roommate has continuously left the stove on, and I mean like an absurd amount of times. The first couple times I just turned it off and talked to her about it nicely, but it continued to happen. I then told her this is a safety concern and she shouldn’t be able to use the stove if it happens again. She left the stove on multiple more times and a couple times the pilot light went out and I came home to a house full of gas. Now that it has happened over 20 times, I have complained to my landlord twice but all she did was give her a timer to use when she cooks to remind her to turn it off. It happened again a week later and I told my landlord but she just talked to my roommate and reminded her to turn it off again.
Basically I feel completely unsafe living here and want to know what my rights are and what I can do or what I can say to my landlord to get her to do something about this?
