We're 5.5 years into this now, and whilst we had a pretty solid routine when it was just the three of us, when number 2 arrived the entire routine went to poop and yeah, here we are.

Routine? What routine?

I do bedtime on my own because reasons.

When it was just the one wean, it always ended with mum giving him milk/hug/whatever before he went down. Once we had a second, we gradually moved to swapping kids every night, but that just wasn’t working out.

Was a tricky switch but we stick to a routine and that keeps it pretty smooth. Helps that the eldest is happy enough to sit in bed and read while i get his wee brother settled.

When we had the one we used to dedicate the best part of ninety minutes getting her to sleep. It was nice, but very inefficient (the amount of money we'd have saved on takeaway if one of us had cooked instead). That obviously wasn't feasible when baby came along so we've ended up splitting the tasks. I take older kiddo, she takes baby.

The issue being that baby doesn't seem too fond of the whole thing.

'its 9pm. Go to bed"

"Ok"

It wasn't always this easy. Just over double your years there though with my one.
