I'll vote for Biden but it will feel disgusting, and with the war shit I'm not even convinced it's harm reduction.
No offense, because I understand a lot of the criticisms here, but do people really not care if the Republicans win?
Just remember that no matter how bad Biden is, the Republicans are going to be 10 times worse.
I am genuinely afraid of a Trump second term, and I really hope most of you are just trolling, because a lot of people are going to regret not voting when Trump finally wins.
If I believed Biden would meaningfully stop the Republicans in any way, I would probably hold my nose and vote for him, but he won't. The Democrats are the party that keeps reminding us that we "need a strong Republican party." At that point, you have to admit that they're all on the same team
Trump 2 will be very bad but Biden 2 is just gonna set up the country for someone even worse in 2028 since that will be 8 straight years liberals completely ignored politics while conservatives will get more and more mad. IMO those conditions will prime the pump for a deeply reactionary with a bigger and more politicized base to accomplish their agenda. I'm also not sure the planet can take 4 more years of most people not caring about politics while the democrats open up every piece of federal land to oil drilling while pretending to believe in climate change.
I'm not gonna fault someone for voting for Biden but I really wish people would focus on other forms of political organizing bc that's where material change is gonna come from.
Trying to think this through out loud. I cannot forgive Biden for the way he treated the rail workers. But at the same time the shift left with the NLRB is something I feel like is worth protecting at the minimum? Idk I'm not going to put any effort into campaigning for anyone or doing anything really beyond the primary vote, but if it's down to Trump vs Biden I feel like I'd vote Biden, just for the NLRB. Thoughts?
Last election I was not really giving a damn and bringing up Trump's failures in doing regime change in Venezuela as argument that he would be an incompetent imperialist.
But then Biden refrained from supporting Bolsonaro's coup attempt. So I kind of bit my tongue.
