Am I right to assume "FO" is "Finished object"?

Slow going, but I've had a busy week. Had a wild Friday night with the last of the back stitching.

Now to figure out what to do with it.. Frames can be expensive. ๐Ÿ˜ฃ While I think on it, on to the next one that's been sitting for a few months ready to go!

Happy Friday, everyone.

In this case, FO seems to be Fox Object! And a very cute one, at that.

Oh, I hadn't thought of that, that's great. Thank you!

I love these foxes! Something very Beatrix Potter about them.

... Is that a Harry Potter reference? ๐Ÿ˜… I'm so new back in to the cross stitch scene, and I live under a rock.

Nope! I've never read/seen Harry Potter (I, too, live under a rock). Beatrix Potter is the English author from the late 1800s who wrote The Tale of Peter Rabbit and The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin, among others. When I was a kid I had a set of her books, and her illustrations (which she herself painted in watercolors) had the whimsical quality that your cross-stitch has. ๐ŸฆŠ๐Ÿงก

Aww, thanks for sharing that, that's lovely. I've read the Tale of Peter Rabbit when I was a kid, too, but back then, I wouldn't have remembered any authors, just the stories. ๐Ÿ˜…

That turned out great! I sometimes get inexpensive frames at the craft store when I don't need something too fancy, they usually run around $10-12 USD!

Thank you! No Walmart here in Australia, but Kmart and Target are the go. I'll take a look, thanks for the suggestion. ๐Ÿ˜Š

The expression is perfect! I always mess up the face. Was this a pattern?

I vote frame! Go to Walmart and get a frame and mat it yourself. :)

Thank you! I enjoy back stitching, so I take my time with it and try to get all of the lines to be straight and match up. It was a kit I got off of a seller on Etsy. Someone above posted the link to the direct manufacturer, but there are lots of resellers online.

Two votes for frame. Thank you!

Omg I hate back stitching. Worse part of finishing an amigurumi too. Lol

[โ€“] StickyDango@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Is back stitching for cross stitching the same as back stitching for amigurumi? I've always been fascinated by them and admire what you can do with string to create something like that!

Essentially the same. You should try crochet! It's very fun.

Here https://www.riolis.com/catalog/details_4021.html Or you can Google the name of it to find other sellers

I got it from a seller on Etsy, but direct from the source is good. Thanks for finding it and sharing!
