This is someone i care about. Have seen twice out of work since accident. Saying “hi” just gets “hi” and silence. This person owes me exactly zero conversation, i understand that. They were previously very chatty and hows it going was the opener. How do i open with kindness and also not pressure conversation if they dont want to talk?
