An accepting, humorous, and social community to request and share drawings inspired by this post. No drawing is bad unless it violates the rules.

This community was originally on @lemmy.autism.place before the instance announced that it is being shut down.

How to

Make a post requesting a specific drawing.
Respond to request posts by adding your submission as a comment to the post.
Comment submissions as you please.

Rules

Drawings must somehow match the request.
Do not submit your own drawing in a post. Instead, submit it as a comment to your post.
Follow instance rules (sopuli.xyz sidebar). Summary: Remember the human.
No AI generated drawings.
Try to keep top level comments in request posts as submissions.

Fun enjoyable drawings without considerable concern for their quality
Improvised drawings
Ridiculousness
Enjoyable praise and conversations

I don't always have paper handy, and since a lot of people use Lemmy on mobile it might help to have some recommendations linked in the sidebar.

Krita is cool if you have a big screen. Also hand-taking note apps can work for the simple ones.

On android I use FOSS Pocket Paint!

Holy crap, pocket paint is SO GOOD. I was using simple draw before, which didn't have the zoom window to see where you're drawing, or layers, or a good UI.

Absolute game changer.

I've been using FreePaint from F-Droid. Not sophisticated, but exactly what I was looking for.

I use ~a cracked version of~ IbisPaint, it's available in many platforms, but it's not FOSS. FreePaint (F-Droid) kind of works, but you need to have in mind that it doesn't opens saved drawings, sometimes it restarts, and if you JUST TOUCH the screen, it crashes.
