This article is beyond stupid. All motors are "solar-powered motors" when you connect them to solar panels.

If you're looking for a solar/electric vehicle, Aptera is the only one you should consider.

Can it never plug in and keep a charge for a standard driver?

That's certainly what they are implying, but a solar panel small enough to fit on a car would need more than this to have enough juice to provide daily driving needs.
