Wikipedia is a legitimate source of information if you know how to use it. To say that it isn’t is a little absurd, you are willingly ignoring one of the best free and open repositories of information. Sure, if you treat it as fact it’s gonna fail you, and there are some shitty practices with the trustworthiness of some sources (ex using police reports as facts, using news media as facts, and sometimes considering state sponsored media trustworthy), but if you look at the sources cited, and consider them, it’s great. Fuck, that’s a practice you need to do in a lot of historical research on even primary sources.

Wikipedia is citing the New York Times, June 29, 1969, p. 33, which has a headline about the pigs getting injured.

The court records cited should corroborate aspects of it, but I don’t know how to find them

As for finding a legitimate source of information on critics authority that is great, I’m still looking. These sources are almost always very politicized, and if they are particularly threatening dissenting voices, they will get silenced, and any record of what happened is either destroyed by the state, or destroyed by the dissenters trying to avoid persecution.
