Hey, joining from the Metro East of the STL area. I browsed until I came upon this instance and took the plunge. Heard about Lemmy in a few places, including reddit.

Long-time fedi user here. I only ever used reddit for reference purposes since search engines are thoroughly broken, and I am hoping to build myself a feed here that can do some of that same research shortcutting. I don't know how much I'll post, but I'm here!

Been on Mastodon for a few months (suck it twitter) and with Reddit's recent money grab figured I'd check out other parts of the fediverse.

Decided to set up with a more localized instance instead of Lemmy.world. Was born in St. Louis, but grew up across Missouri and Indiana before settling down in a quiet little corner of Ohio.

St. Louis metro area checking in. Long time Reddit user transitioning away from that site. IT guy. Older but not cantankerous (yet) : ) I like board games, playing and listening to music, hanging with the family, gadgets, Linux, 3D printing, homebrewing, blah blah blah.

Another former reddit user from the Twin Cities here. Enjoying learning about lemmy so far, still trying to figure out how it works! Big fan of disc golf, board games, books, and video games.

I have been lazy lately, between work and working OT, I've been watching TV. I knit, love to travel, enjoy cooking classes, going to flea markets among other things. I would love to figure out how to rehab some of my furniture, do some minor home repairs and garden.
