I will stay as long as they don't do what Reddit did.

Yes, Absolutely! I also plan on using shreddit once I can't use infinity anymore.

Yep, running a comment replacement on my 13 year old reddit account this weekend and deleting it.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago

Yes

Lemmy is a game changer for me. First couple of days were confusing, but after adding a slew of communities that resembles my reddit subscription list... I think I'm there.

Now its more of the niche subs that I hope will grow into its own. More specific game communities are needed, because that's more or less the only reason I have to go back to reddit.

Lemmy needs a polling tool... I'm staying regardless 😏

I will stay if you all stay. The site we want is the one with the people. I got sick of talking to bots and seeing ads disguised as social commentary. I would love to have a place to learn and socialize without constantly being bought and sold.

For me it depends. I've deleted my Reddit account entirely. Gone with the wind! And I've registered a Lemmy account. Then I realized how much more life time I've have without Reddit. Later I've realized I miss some specialized subs for retro gaming here. This is a much bigger community on Reddit. But Lemmy is growing and I hope what I'm missing finds its way to the Fediverse soon.

Yes in case of not going back to spez's playground.

Although Lemmy is written in Rust I think i will switch to Kbin.

wefwef app is amazing so I am staying here

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago

yep really like it here

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago

Absolutely, I'm not going back to Reddit after the shit they pulled.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago

I'll definitely be sticking around to see what happens with Lemmy. I may end up using kbin primarily but am very much interested in subscribing to Lenny communities across instances. It's been tremendous fun learning about the Fediverse and ActivityPub, and I also think that decentralization is a good response to what we have all witnessed with centralized social media

Too new to rate, but I have to say that I am optimistic. I was early on Digg, early on Reddit and in both cases, had great runs. Fingers crossed - but going to give it the college try.

Yup. Just need 2FA.

I really like Lemmy as a platform, but I still keep going to Reddit a bit because that's where people are. Particularly local communities haven't been interested in moving.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Yeah I'm going to stick around here. I finally deleted my Reddit account earlier today. I'll still use DuckDuckGo to search for specific things on there but that's it.

I'll stick around. Not going back to reddit, but I hope Lemmy grows and becomes more active.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Yes! Reddit is blocked in my DNS server so they will not get any traffic from me. Lemmy and Mastodon are where I'm at.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Yep. And I think things will improve a lot very soon.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

I'm platform agnostic and will use whatever works best, is cross compatible, ethical, and open source.

Definitely yes, the decentralized aspect of it gives me a feeling of more control and more freedom than the corpo driven social media like reddit.

At least nothing here is owned by a single entity. No single point of failure.

I dunno. I've been on Reddit for 16 years. I really really really like the RES (Reddit Enhancement Suite) style of expanding images and doom scrolling. It's my morning binge.
