What's curious is that the Reddit user u/Yuval17G who got it to work in India did that on a rooted OnePlus 7 running AOSPA.

This means that in theory there's nothing preventing Google from making it available to non-Pixel devices when they roll it out but it's likely that they will still keep it exclusive to the Pixel for a while.

Great that they're doing languages, but there's no good reason why screening and recording is disabled in New Zealand. It's just dumb

I have never understood their logic for restricting access to these features. My gut is that Google has become one big beurocratic tangle.
