A lot of military stuff is. The anti-tank obstacles Russia is using to stop the Ukrainian advance are literally just big, pointy rocks, for example. It's just very cost effective to deploy and very not cost effective to bypass.
Imagine running for your life across an open field in moon boots.
Such is war. I wonder if stilt-walking would work well.
I don't think I'd want to be an elevated target in a war zone.
