NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A Super Bowl halftime show performer was charged Thursday with two misdemeanors, about 4 1/2 months after he ran across the field at the Superdome waving a flag that included the words “Sudan and Free Gaza,” Louisiana State Police said.

Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, 41, turned himself in to authorities to face of charges resisting a police officer and disturbing the peace by interrupting a lawful assembly, police said. He surrendered in coordination with his attorney and was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.

Nantambu revealed the flag and ran on the field during rapper Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance on Feb. 9. He was detained on the field after his demonstration but not charged. The NFL said at the time he would be banned for life from league stadiums and events.

According to a statement from police, Nantambu had been hired as an extra performer and “had permission to be on the field during the performance, but did not have permission to demonstrate as he did.”

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy thanked investigators for their work.

“We take any attempt to disrupt any part of an NFL game, including the halftime show, very seriously and are pleased this individual will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law,” McCarthy said in a statement.

I suppose it must be. I guess my image of a "democrat supporter" is someone older, probably in their 40s or so, because I cannot see why the "youth" would ever support a party full of ghouls like that. The republicans I can understand, they offer easy answers to everything, but the democrats? I don't understand why in hell someone in their 20s would ever vote for them. I guess I'm just out of touch with the kids.

It's a weird phenomena. I don't know a lot of twenty somethings but the couple I know are pretty radical.

There's something about the Harry Potter millennials and being a dyed in the wool Democrat. I don't know if it's because my age group got a small taste of "normal" in this country before it all went to shit or what.

One thing I can say is the media I consumed as a kid was a lot more subversive and anti authority than what's being made today.

100% agree on the Harry Potter millenials, all the ones I know aren't democrats (Australian) but are super lib while thinking they are "progressive." If they were American, they probably would be diehard democrat supporters. I don't know if they would be "blue MAGA" or anything, but recently I heard one of them complaining about Trump because "he makes America look weak" and therefore China will attack Australia, so they've certainly got their own racist conspiracy theory brainworms that are similar enough.

I hate the way that libs like that try to "reclaim" patriotism and advocate for imperialism but with a rainbow flag. Then they have the gall to SpongeBob font us when we say there is no material difference between the two parties (in the US)

Yeah, it's so frustrating how they will just sound like the most rabid, frothing at the mouth fash, but then justify it by claiming it is for minorities or gay people. It's scary to watch sometimes, it's like a switch is flipped, and my kind, caring, emotionally understanding friend suddenly turns into a complete CHUD, until the subject is dropped. I have no idea how the US state department figured out these psychological tricks, but it is very worrying, sometimes I worry that my otherwise decent friends would literally rather choose US state department propaganda and racism over just listening to their friend.
