Something got caught in the chain of the new bike and bent the derailleur all to shit. Never happened to me on a bike before.
I knew I should have gone belt drive
They normally have a sacrificial hanger where they attach to the frame. They're not too difficult to replace either though.
This ones's bent pretty bad so I hope it's an easy enough switch over
Youtube's got your back.
