A couple months ago I found an anthology of the Wheel of Time.

I had watched the first 3 or so episodes of the Amazon adaptation and wasn’t super invested into the characters, but wanted to give the book series a shot.

Basically I’ve read about 7 chapters of New Spring and was wondering why literally none of this was brought up in the Amazon series until I realized that adaptation started with Eye of the World. Should I just skip New Spring and come back later? Does this even add to the new reading experience outside of a glance at Tar Vallon and the hierarchy of the Aes Sedai?

I don’t hate this book - but I already know Lan becomes Moirane’s Warder and that she meets/finds the Dragon Reborn.

I dropped the tv show pretty early on, so it definitely wasn’t a good TV show either.

Not a good adaptation or good show. I can see why Amazon cancelled it.

Yeah. As a WoT fan, it was just painful to watch. so many things that made the books good were destroyed in the first season.

..anf, small pet peeve. ..the show characters in the past called him the dragon reborn. ..but, that was the past, and there was no reborn yet.

my partner and I took to calling him the dragon reborn reborn in the few times we watched the show together. XD

So far in the book I’m at Baerlon, and I made it until Shadar Logoth in the TV show.

Only change I liked was having Perrin have trauma from the Winternight after accidentally killing his wife. But it makes more sense that he would be an unmarried boy like Mat and Rand.

Yeah. Perrin broods enough he should really have some trauma to back it up. XD

Anyways.. .. the series lags a little bit in the middle, as Jordan's health declines, and before Sanderson finished up. But overall, it's a really solid series, and worth the read.
